Evolution of the German Music Scene

The German music market is the third largest Music market in the world after USA and Japan which makes it the largest market in Europe. The Music scene evolved in Germany after the three B’s. Those compositions helped Germany make a mark in the International music industry.

The Role of Composers

As the Creative boundaries were expanding and the music was reaching household, there came many composers which contributed to the growth of German music internationally. These composers left a special mark which made their compositions sail internationally. The ones which left a mark are listed below.

Johann Sebastian Bach is one of the most famous contributors to Baroque which features ornate compositions blended around strong tonal chords. His most famous works are “Blandenurg Concentros” and “The Well-Tempered Clavier”.

Another famous Baroque composer was Georg Philip Telemann who gave special compositions in the sacred and secular music and was admired for his church compositions. His compositions like “Water Music”, “Viola Concerto G Major”, “Pimpinone” were amazing and helped him establish a stronger presence.

The Romantic Era gave birth to many famous germans which created one of the finest German works.

Ludwig van Beethoven is a name which is established strongly in the romantic niche, the nine symphonies is considered as one of the greatest compositions in the romantic niche.

The era of Cabaret, Swing & Theatre came with significant changes in the cultural and political changes in Germany during the times of World War. The Cabaret music made its way into the scene in the late 20th century and it first appeared in 1920s in the club scene.

Swing music also became popular amongst the teenagers and this as it was seen as a sign of counter-culture.

Then came the era of pop music with one of Germany’s most popular artist Herbert Grönemeyer who had one of the longest career expanding 44 years. He got immensely famous with his appearance in “Das Boot”. With the evolution also came the commercial aspect which led to the expansion of Record Labels. The Record labels played a significant role which led to the artist gaining bigger fortunes and get immensely popular.
