First of many of my heroes gate meets zeldas universe combo project, starting with the fan favorite, mask. mask (oot/mm; he/him), sheik (adult timeline oot, they/them), and ocarina (child timeline, he/him) all have... complicated... relationships with each other. Mask longs for the friendship he had with Sheik, who misses their best friend bitterly. He's scared to open himself back up for friendship, leaving a giant gap between ocarina and him, and while both wish to cross it, mask is too frightened to try and ocarina is too scared of hurting him further to push. This leaves sheik mourning a friendship they'll never have again, ocarina alone and aching for a friendship that died before it began, and mask desperately wanting to be loved but scared to accept it. :(

next up will likely be sky and aurora!

Next up in my Zelda redesigns, we have the timeline splitter themselves, oot zelda! Ocarina (he/him) is child timeline Zelda, all grown up, while Sheik (they/them) is adult timeline Zelda. Having been raised by the sheikah, who have no cultural concept of gender, Sheik views themselves completely out of the gender binary, unlike Ocarina, who transitioned young (11ish) from female to male.
