░░░░░░ ☾ zuko sets his cup down, scrutinises him, tries to guess what sokka knows, what he’s heard – more importantly, what he’s been told. the two don’t mean the same in the fire nation. and if zuko didn’t know any better, he would think that sokka is calm, even sensible.
it’s a good thing he knows better.
“then get to it.” he says. he wants to remember all the good he has done, that the war is over, that blood can scrub off if you try hard enough. this isn’t war: no matter how intent the generals are on forgetting the fact. “if you give me something i can use,” and he is already running the variables through his head, best to worst, “i can convince them.” he tilts his head, bland as ever. “or i could just get aang.”
