Captain Mandy Bio
Name: Samantha/Amanda Thomas, “Mandy” Race: Unjoined Trill/Zutra gestalt entity. Home Planet: Trill/Zukovra Bio: A unification of two separate host/symbiote races, Mandy in many ways represents the best of two worlds.
Amanda hails from the planet Zukovra, a Federation world, home to a race of synthetic lifeforms bearing likenesses to the animals of Earth. Though capable of living alone on their home planet, the Zutra require a humanoid host to survive long term off world. Though their origins remain shrouded in mystery, the Zutra have shown to be a highly adaptive race. Their ability to bond with other races, and share their abilities with their host makes them a unique species among the Federation.
Samantha was born to Trill Ambassadors to the Federation. She took up an early interest in navigation which eventually lead her to solo piloting her family’s personal shuttle to Zukovra as a weekend excursion in her teen years. Befriending Amanda, the two sensed kindred spirits in each other, and Samantha eventually volunteered to become Amanda’s host after both expressed interest in joining Starfleet Academy years later.
When conjoined, the two function as a singular entity known as Mandy. As she is the combination of both minds acting as one, Mandy benefits from both Samantha’s swift reflexes and piloting skills and Amanda’s quick thinking and ingenuity. Now serving as captain aboard the Excelsior Class USS Fifi La Fume, Mandy continues the Starfleet tradition of boldly going where no one has gone before.
