Zweet Café, 4682 Eagle Rock Blvd., Los Angeles (Eagle Rock), CA 90041
There’s a new place to laptop camp in Eagle Rock and it’s camping friendly so far. Zweet Café is down the street from Occidental College but it wasn’t filled with students during my visit. It has a cozy feel for a large space thanks to the chalkboard art on one wall and the world coffee map on the other, pillows, lots of dark wood, tiny succulents, antiques, and exposed beams.
The baked goods are from Bread Lounge, an excellent choice (everything I’ve had there is good). I spotted croissants, Danish, cake, cookies, quiche, juice, etc. I think they serve omelettes and eggs on the weekend. They have gluten free options. The coffee is from Pasadena roaster, Jones Coffee.
* Pain au chocolat ($3.50): ginormous with lots of chocolate and a crispy, delicate exterior
* Latte: no foam art and it wasn’t rich but it did have an interesting chocolatey flavor
There are a good number of power outlets.Ask for the wifi password at the register. There is no time limit. Bring headphones unless you like their music. Dog friendly outdoor seating. Ask for the student discount (must show ID).
3.5 out of 5 stars.
