M 51, the whirlpool galaxy, and it’s small companion galaxy, NGG5195, have been colliding and interacting, perhaps multiple times, for hundreds of millions of years. It is one of the most beautiful near face on galaxies as Hubble space telescope images show. In addition to the galactic interactions, or perhaps because of it, there is quite a bit of star formation going on in the arms of this galaxy. I have photographed this before but the first time with this new Astro Camera. This is a 60×120 seconds exposures so a total of two hours integration time. #M51 #WorldPoolGalaxy #Galaxies #zwo294mcpro #zwo #CelestronTelescope #clayhausphotography https://www.instagram.com/p/CDb83Ivhgkj/?igshid=1s9kt0gtsl7h1
