Under-Recognized Ways You're Raising Your Cortisol (Stress) Levels
Poor posture
Anticipatory thinking (thinking about what might happen)
Doomscrolling and consuming triggering content
Living in a state of constant urgency
Over explaining yourself
Staying in spaces where you’re tolerated, not welcomed
Suppressed irritation/”Letting things go” repeatedly
Hyper self-awareness/Constantly monitoring yourself
Poor sleep quality
Being around people who need you dysregulated (they need your reactivity, explanations, and emotional labor)
What do you do when you start to stray away from Islam/lack motivation? For example, there are times when I struggle to pray or read the Quran. I know discipline is a big thing but is there anything else that helps you?
Purification in every way : increasing ghusl / wudhu, cleaning my environment, istighfar, etc
That gives you a clean slate to start anew
There is no better time than now to develop a spiritual practice, cleanliness on all fronts, and cultivate rootedness !
The more our world evolves the thinner the veil gets and boundaries between what’s real / good and fake will be blurred. If you don’t have a strong anchor it’ll be easy to get overwhelmed and/or confused.

Hiii I miss your blog ❤️ I was wondering if you had any tips for dealing with linerance? I keep creating scenarios in my head about someone I know very little about and it’s taking too much of my brain space. I know it’s probably feeling a void but I have no idea what I should do about it. I should be putting that energy into me ;(
Hii ♥️
One of the best remedies for limerence is creativity. Create something, a drawing, painting, writing, whatever you like, but use your creative faculties undisrupted for at least an hour everyday.
And choose a sport or hobby to move your body, it circulates energy and gives you a break from too much mental activity. It’ll also help ground you and come back to yourself.
Hello love!! Recently I made the mistake of allowing 2 people that were extremely jealous of me & my life stay in my home for 2 months. After I told them to leave, family and friends that came over to my home noticed that the energy of the home is different and not as positive and light as it used to be. I also lost over 10 pounds and lost the glow in my skin and felt depression and nausea since they stayed with me and it still lingers. I’m not sure what it is, if it’s evil eye or something darker but what can I do to protect myself and get rid of this negative energy in my home and also the evil eye inflicted on me?
Thank youuu🩷🩷
Hi dear ! So sorry that happened to you !
If I were in your shoes id let Surah Al Baqarah play non stop in the house for a few days, and take purifying baths often, in islam they’re called Ghusl, you can google the steps if you’re comfortable doing that.
I think it’d be also important to cut the cord with them, any remaining link you have such as social media, or ongoing chats, and even mental tabs open, close it all. As much as possible.
Eat well and fill your days with things that bring you joy, even small things, they add up and create a momentum of joy all around you 🤍.
Hey beauty!
MANY moons ago I came to you with some worries that were weighing on my heart, and you gave me the most thoughtful, compassionate, and loving responses each time. Thank you. Thank you so much for the space and care you offered me! No matter how hard I try I cannot for the life of me remember what was weighing me down, but I remember that you, a virtual stranger in this big wide web, were one of the hands that held me while I gained back my strength and gently helped me up.
There isn’t really a point to this message I guess. I just saw you on my feed (I love your curation btw!) and felt a strong desire to let you know that the grace and love with which you lead into this world touches and transforms hearts in ways you might not even be aware. I want you to know. I want you to know the beauty you exhale transforms the world around you for the better. Crossing paths and being in your presence, no matter how briefly, was healing in ways I honestly cannot put into words.
With you I learned that thoughtfulness and presence are forces that can dissolve the densest mountains of pain and hurt.
I hope you are blessed, healthy, surrounded by love in all the forms it can manifest! May your days be filled with the sweetest fruits and your nights replenishing.
Much love to you my dear, blessed be! 💐
Ohh 🥺, Im getting teary eyed.
This is so beautiful, thank you so much !
Much, much, much love to you ! 🤍
Dear Tahyal,
I hope you're well and I hope everything is good in your life. I wanted to ask you for advice as I've been in a stressful place right now in my life because I'm about to graduate insha'Allah, as it's happened other times in my life while I was very stressed, I tend to get a bad fixation on something, sometimes it's existential thoughts, sometimes it's relligion/God, sometimes it's life and this time it's about the news. So, as I've been speaking up about Palestine and Gaza and being active on Instagram, I think I started reading/watching too many things on my feed regarding politics I started getting really scared about the future here in Europe. I'm really scared that there's going to be either more division because of a lot of different ethnicities in one place or the rise of fascist-like states. So either outcome concerns me a lot, I don't know if it's the media that is fear-mongering but I don't know what to do, I constantly think about it and I'm scared for the whole continent becoming very unstable! At the same time I think about how other people all over the world have it so hard, so much injustice! I don't know, I feel very discouraged when I imagine the future and especially I've always wanted to have children but when I see what could be coming, it scares me so much! Any word of advice is appreciated, thank you for reaading this message <3
Hi darling,
I would advise you to stop consuming so much media, because it'll keep inducing fearful "fight-or-flight" states with absolutely no way to solve or control what you are preoccupied about.
Id suggest perhaps finding a few charities and go-fund-me's relating to the issues you're concerned about and donating what you can. Making dua'as, and that's it. Anything beyond that would be self-traumatising.
I understand your concerns as they emerge from pure compassion and a desire for justice, but these issues are ultimately not in your control. Therefore there is no point in expending more energy towards them. Simply focus on what you can do, leave the rest to God.
I recommend the serenity prayer for peace of mind :
God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, Courage to change the things I can, And wisdom to know the difference
Darling ! Thank you for all you have shared. Your Beauty recommendations on instragram are priceless!
I have a question: do you know how to foster a sense of safety in the body? Long story short I did EMDR too fast and too deep, and it worsened hypervigilance. The simple 5 techniques (something you can see, touch etc.) is not useful outside of acute anxious episode but I’m looking for prolonged, deep grounding.
Thank you for your wisdom 🤍
Hi love !
You're welcomeee.
Oh im sorry that happened to you ! I think the one thing that works every time is diaphragmatic breathing. Personally I also accompany it with the recitation of Divine names/attributes depending on what my current concern is. I don't know if you follow islamic tradition or not, but for the case of safety in the body I would recommend the name "Ar-Raheem", which has the same arabic root as the word "womb", it symbolizes the nurturing and compassionate aspect of God, which in my opinion fits your concerns perfectly.
