I painted the hope I saw through your eyes

I painted in colors of wonder, not knowing what it would disguise

Breath by breath I caressed the warmth of the lunar lights

On canvas my brush dances, to paint all the wonders sights

Whisper to me my faeries, of all the darks sweet embrace

Help me to light up my canvas of wonders which no mortal can replace

You look through me and it's more than I can bear

I try my best, a bloody crawl the mountain side

Too much, too hard, too sensitive for this ride

You talked through me as though I couldn't hear

You looked right at me and all I knew was fear

Fear I was not good enough, that you spoke behind my back

Fear that I should not cower and go on the attack

But this I know, I believed it from the start

My soul is fragile, a baby's breath, one word enough to tear it apart

Swett bliss promised, but something too far to obtain

The demons chase me demanding a mark upon my body, an added soul to stain

The help that was spoken, a dream come true to me

But how can I trust in these dreams, were they not ever meant to be?

One half a warm embrace with promise of peace

The other half attacks me as though starving for their feast

Why do I hesitate to leave this nightmare far behind the veil

Why do I not leap happily for a boat of dreams set sail

To leave a world of darkness to the sleep I shy away

Why not a dream reality that assures me it will stay

I close my eyes, and whisper "it will be alright"

Ready to open them to that wonderful dream at dawn's first light

I do not need to listen to death's intoxicating whisper

The dream is all I need and im sure it's the reality and not a covered lure

I open eyes ready for the light

only to find something much different in my sight

The hurt the pain, this nightmare reigns over me

I refused death's offer just to realize, that nightmare is reality.

Back to earth, to center and release the shadows I once held

My eyes of brown still miss you, but my horrors are once more felled
