When you get to my age, trick-or-treating becomes less and less socially acceptable. Of course, that is just a thing you are supposed to grow out of. But, who can quit on the classic festivity cold turkey and ALSO THE CANDY? Candy is so important.
Even though I don’t eat it very often, especially because I recently got braces, when I have candy, I have major preferences. So, I will list 4 of my favorite Halloween candies and 4 of my regular favorite candies.
1. Tootsie Rolls - These have been my favorites since I was a small child. My favorite ones are the rectangular ones, not the cylindrical ones. I feel like you get so much more out of each bite. Perfect chocolate.
2. Kit-Kats - I haven’t met a single soul who dislikes Kit-Kats. Who in their right mind would? It’s a classic. The wafer-life middle sings a sweet melody to my tastebuds.
3. Nerds - Though these are fairly popular, I don’t know of many people who specifically favor these. I get it, they are simply fruit flavored, itty-bitty chunks, but it’s so subtle and satisfying.
4. Gummy Krabby Patties - You either love them or hate them, there isn’t an in between. I get way too excited when I pull these out of my collection. They are just simple gummy snacks, but I’m a total sucker for practically anything of that texture.
1. Sour Punch Blue Raspberry Straws - Best. Things. Ever. I love blue raspberry, but also love the hint of sourness. When I see it on the shelves at stores, I beg my parents to let me get them. They are a must have.
2. Sour Patch Kids Watermelon - I actually don’t eat too much sour candy, but here is another one I adore. I’ve grown up with the flavor of regular sour patch kids. But, as soon as I tried this type, I knew it was meant to be. Watermelon is one of my favorite fruits.
3. Snickers - Must I explain? haha.
4. Crunchies - My mother always loves going to World Market, where there are various food and drink products from all over the world. My grandmother, who is from Liverpool in England, introduced her to a candy bar that was crystalized caramel and milk chocolate on the outside. I swear, it has to be one of the most delicious things I’ve ever tasted.
