I think the lonely hour gets to a man. Reminiscing and romanticizing and ruminating over bits and pieces of love in the heart. I guess you were my north star at times. And now that I’ve lost you this song might ring hollow. And yet, you are the one I want to call to talk about this tiny heartbreak that haunts me in the tender darkness. No sounds, no people, and not much to hide behind. When a man is one with the darkness, the darkness doesn’t seem to hide him anymore. Maybe I’m lonely, definitely vulnerable, and maybe the thought of you, the idea of you was this comfortable, warm safe haven.
