ICHIGŌ, TOMOE.  TWENTY-SEVEN.  FORMER GENERAL OF THE SHOGUN. more under cut.

titles.   the grand onna-bugeisha occupation.  military general (tenryou commission, ichijō branch), resistance secret consort. constellation.   bellator mulier - warrior woman. vision.  pyro, worn as an earring on her right ear. personality.   hardheaded and passionate, honor above all else is the most important thing to tomoe. a woman who marches to her own drum and thus has issues conforming. caring more for others than herself, she tends to place herself within harmful situations and refuses to acknowledge the trouble in which it brings. a tad bit of a perfectionist who will push for her goal. occasionally comes across as brazen, but it’s really her inability of small-talk. clashes often with fellow general kujou sara due to her outspoken opinions concerning the decree and it’s affect on inazumans.

deep dive.  eldest daughter to the ichijō clan, a branch of the kujou clan, and general of that clan’s section of the military. tomoe was and still is a woman of her word and of honor  ---  but not exactly to that of the shogun.  to tomoe, her honor lies within the protection and safety of her people as taught by her father who lay imprisoned due to his ‘disloyalty’.  in order to retain the family name, tomoe succeeded him due to her prowess and prior title as the grand onna-bugeisha.  however, much like her father, she too disagreed with the ordeals of the the shogun.  with the growing tension, including with her cousin kujou sara’s undying loyalty, tomoe went a step beyond her father’s misspeaking and sought a truce between the sangonomiya resistant forces and herself.

such a decision was made due to witnessing how inazumas were effected by the stripping of their vision: memory loss, personality loss, the loss of goals.  it was cruel, harsh and no one else and most definitely not the shogun, seemed to bat an eye. tomoe, on the other hand, felt a rage like no other --- felt a disservice to her own personal morals.  loyalty to the shogun meant nothing if it inflicted such pains upon the people she saw as her equals. despite her title and sworn oath to the shogun, she did everything in her power to assist the resistance.  eventually, kujou sara became privy of her secret alliance and a fight broke out between the two cousins by name. polearm and bow, two forms of honor clashing  ---  kujou sara eventually allowed ichijou tomoe to live with the exception of leaving behind her vision and leaving the capital city.

tomoe, agreed, but before she handed over her vision knocked sara back and used a smoke bomb procured from the shuumatsuban forces and made her escape onto the sangonomiya island where she continued to offer her supports to general kokomi until the decrees end. she has not considered yet returning to her remaining family or the tenryou commission, should she ever be offered.
