I really hate it that INFINITE is just so underrated and bad talked about, they have so much talent
Hello! c: I hope you donât mind if I answer this on public! Because they are a lot of things I really wanted so say for a long time by now.
Truthfully spoken, I canât say that Infinite belongs into the âunderratedâ classification of K-Pop groups. There are indeed groups who suffer way more than Infinite right now. BUT for all their crazy talent and for everything Infinite is doing, yes, I genuinely believe that they are underrated and not appreciated enough.
Why? First of all, yes I know you will be tired of hearing this but they started form nothing. At their debut they had exactly 3 rooms for all 7 members: A living room where they also cooked, a bathroom and a bedroom. 3 rooms for 7 people. Tablo even pointed out that their CEO Lee Jungyeop nearly cried every day for them because he just knew that it wouldnât be easy for the boys.
âCome Back Againâ, âSheâs backâ and âBTDâ werenât really appreciated by the public and the needed fame for Infinite didnât came. Also their single âInspiritâ, where they, despite having it hard, released a fandom name for the people that were supporting them couldnât help them out. Weeks before âBe Mineâ came out, the tension of the boys were at the absolute peak, as we all can see through this very intense practice video. Why? Because their CEO even sold his house to afford the music video. If âBe Mineâ wouldnât have been a success they would have clearly disbanded. I know they are not the only group that faced these hardship, of course, but itâs definitely a part of their history that should be mentioned.
Back in 2012/2013 they got a great amount of attention from the public, even won the âMale Artist of the yearâ award at the MAMAâs in 2013 but lately people have been forgetting about them. They say that Infinite by no means canât compete with Exo, BTS, Got7 or Seventeen anymore, that they are worn out, old and I really canât understand them. Theyâre blinking Infiniteâs effort away in a heartbeat and also their talent and that they are indeed still a group that should be taken seriously. Why? They never lip-synched since debut in music shows. All their stages are live and even on tour they donât just play MRs but bring a band with them. And they achieve in singing life despite their hard choreographies and, oh, of course their 99,9% synchronization.
Plus, all members can sing and also all members can dance. You have always someone in the group whoâs lacking in one of the fields, but they just donât, and this is no bragging or an attempt to make Infinite superior to other groups, this is a simple fact. And a fact I really like to re recognized while so many fans are outraged over the many cases of lip-synching in music shows that there happening in the last years.
Which brings us to the present and looking at the facts, yes, for singing and dancing life in nearly perfection theyâre underrated. Their MV views arenât high and can bye no means compete with SHINee, Bigbang or even BTS and this breaks my heart. They released a 360°MV for âBadâ, something incredible new in the whole K-Pop but most people donât even watch or know it because itâs âjust Infiniteâ. I heard this term so often the past months and I donât know how to change it, because it isnât âjust Infiniteâ. The boys are on their second world tour, never took a real break since debut, afforded a new Woollim building from their earned money back in 2014 and practice till they canât move their bodies anymore; Hoyaâs ankle injury is a good example for this.
I donât know why they arenât as popular as other groups. They arenât lacking dancing compared to SHINee, they arenât lacking singing compared to Bigbang and they arenât lacking charisma compared to BTS. Maybe you can tell me why they can never achieve what these groups can reach, what the exact point is that is holding them back? Because I honestly donât know.
This is just a sincere and little desperate Inspirit wishing from the K-Pop fandom with all heart to not leave Infinite behind like this. Iâm not neglecting the other groups talent, by no means, but please donât talk about Infinite like that. Theyâve gone a long way to come where they are now and this isnât even the highest point where they could be.
