Still haven't settled on any for these three. Miriam is causing me so many problems. Had her for so long that nothing sounds right.
I also don't listen to enough sub stuff, so I'm struggling to think of stuff off the top of my head.
Rewatching the zanpakuto rebellion arc after a decade, and talking to one of my friends got me thinking about this
I don’t like Soi-Fon that much (but I do appreciate her), but something I’ve noticed in rewatching the movies, all of bleach, and then the Shusuke Amagai arc for the first time since I was 8 (I’m 21 now, and it’s the only thing mentioned I haven’t watched since I was 8) is that:
1) Studio Pierrot seems to love her (nothing necessarily wrong with that) because she is in sooo much filler content with so much focus. The most out of any character not part of the pre-established cast I believe, especially one who hadn’t even personally interacted with Ichigo (they technically meet for the first time in the second fucking movie)
And 2) she’s mischaracterised. So badly, unfortunately too often (at least in early bleach). She is done so dirty.
It makes sense. A character has to remain static in filler, but they actively make her weaker, and make her stupid.
I understand why she is used so much, because she is the stealth force commander. But that’s exactly the problem.
She is the commander of the assassination, and intelligence units. She is incredibly fast, incredibly powerful. Rukia would not be able to clash swords with Soi Fon, Rukia would be out cold on the floor before she even knew what had happened. I do not think Soi Fon would have struggled like that in the Bount arc. But also, she would’ve been able to immediately tell something was going wrong with the family in the second filler. She would’ve sniffed out the assassination attempts and the guy wanting to take charge so fucking fast.
Just because she is impulsive and quick to anger doesn’t mean she lacks observational skills and intelligence.
Thankfully the movies give her better graces, and I think the Reigai arc treats her much better (especially because she is going up against actual Captain-class enemies). It’s been a decade since I watched the zanpakuto rebellion arc so I can’t comment there. But like,,, if they were going to use Soi Fon so much, at least use her properly. She’s not a set piece, she’s a very important character.
Thought about this when I got to Rukia making a sob story to stay at the start of the arrancar arc in my rewatch, and just imagining Ichigo looking back at that like “🧍♂️😑”

Also drew this the other day. Her colours were updated in her resurreccion design (which I finally got down after a year!) but rewatching Bleach has really made me realise my characters are too pale. I’ve been worrying for a while about the skin tone of my light-skinned characters because I’ve been a little concerned there’s not enough variation between them, but rewatching bleach really confirmed for me that I do need to adjust their colours.

Really happy I started doing these, they make my sillies’ profiles look a lot better. I think it makes their profiles look more professional. But I think it also ties them together as being from the same person. I haven’t seen anyone else do this. I’ve seen like one other person (who I follow) do the bars, but it’s not formatted correctly in my opinion. But I haven’t seen anyone do it with the names, and doing so makes them look more like actual Bleach TYBW character profiles imo :]

I like to believe him being fed up with Shinji is genuine. That he's genuinely just so done with Shinji whenever Shinji acts like an idiot. Like we know he's not emotionless and he's able to lose his temper, let him have genuinelt expressed emotions as a treat.
Rewatching Bleach, and while typing this I am at the introduction of the Captains in Hueco Mundo, I started this because of Nnoitra vs Nel. He fucking HATESSS women, so I'm tickled by the idea of him being absolutely PISSED OFF by a kid just because she's a girl.
Also, the idea of Grimmjow not being a protective dad until Nnoitra and Szayel walk into the room.

When Ichigo says "what" to Dordorni, I'm just imagining he GENUINELY has no idea what the fuck Dordorni is saying.
Japanese is very very different to Spanish (I think). In English, we obviously have a frame of reference for certain words because 1) English has stolen from a lot of languages, and 2) the romantic languages often sound quite similar to each other. But, and I could genuinely be wrong here, I don't think Japanese has that kind of frame to reference.
So when Dordorni says "we are the privaron espada", I'm tickled by the idea that Ichigo is genuinely very confused because he's just like "??? I haven't a fucking clue what you're even saying"
Obviously, that's probably wrong. Ichigo goes on to become an English teacher, and a translator. As well, I don't know a lot about Japanese, and a lot of Japanese words do just sound like funky English. So that's probably not the case, but it's funny to imagine.
God I need to rewrite the filler scene in the anime where Rukia and Isshin come face to face in episode 141.
