throwback to that one time i caught the toaster on fire
Before I fall in love again 1. I want us to be friends. Which means, I want to be able to eat my favourite cheese crust pizza with you, while having cheese all over my face and even in my hair, without feeling embarrassed or concerned about it. I want to be comfortable with you, I want to be okay about being messy, irritating, embarrassing, disgusting, petty while with you. Because I will be petty when I see my ex best friend post a happy picture and I will be messy during my finals and I will be embarrassing when I meet your parents for I suck at meeting parents. I want to be okay with being the way I am and the only way to be okay is to know that youâre okay with me being things other than beautiful, graceful and composed at all times. 2. I want to be able to have long and passionate conversations with you not just about existential things but also about what went wrong in the ending of that book and how kids are affected by media and how tomato basil combination always works. I want to have conversations where we may not always have the same views but our fundamental values always fall in place. I want to talk to you about the beauty of the stars but I also want to talk to you about the disgusting mentality behind certain societal norms. 3. I want to see how consistent your actions are with your words. I donât want to fall for love letters or poems, for sweet Instagram captions or long birthday texts, I want to fall in love with you showing up on time and keeping your promises. 4. I want to take it slow. I want our story to work out in years, not months. I want to respect time and space this time. 5. I want to make sure I am not seeking love from you for the lack of love I have for myself. I want to make sure you arenât a void I am filling in, you are not an alternative to the things I canât give myself. I want to make sure you are not doing the same. 6. I want to work out with my insecurities and fears from the past. I donât want to project them on you, I donât want to subject you to the doubts, suspicion and anger I carry from the people I have known in the past. 7. Before I fall in love again, I want to make a mattress with you. Of understanding and respect and trust. So when we fall, it doesnât hurt.

Me irl
there is a hole in the center of my chest and it does not hurt, does not ache in the way that emptiness should, oh, but it wants. I have never felt more like a blackhole than I do in these days that grow dark so quickly, ghostly hands reaching out from my heart to take take take and they have forgotten how to let go, to give back. Tangible hands will grow tired of clutching onto people and their silly promises but the phantom of the child I was, all carefree and soft, is peaking out from behind my sternum and letting go is a lesson she has not learned.

Losing a Kpop Idol and Working in Mental Health...
I work as a Clinical Mental Health Counseling intern and I was invited to participate in giving a talk to several high school classes on suicide today. Ironically I woke up to this first thing in the morning at 6:50am.
I know many of my students didnât really know who Jonghyun was but he was one of the many celebrities and artists who I was able to mention today in my presentation, as sad as that is. I am a HUGE Kpop fan (my other half can attest as there are days there is more Korean in the house than English) and SHINee was one of the very first groups I ever had the honor of listening to back in 2009 when I entered the world of Kpop. While I have staned many different groups throughout the years, I can never express how much these idols are humans too. They are people like you and I that have emotions and struggle, sometimes finding themselves in a dark place to which they may never come out of.
Losing Jonghyun just goes to show the importance of reaching out to friends and family when youâre in that dark place. If you or anyone you know is feeling like you canât do this anymore, please call:
1-800-273-8255
This is the Suicide Prevention Lifeline.
If someone tells you or hints they are wanting to kill themselves, please call the police, a parent, a neighbor, etc. to check on them and make sure they are on the phone or near you. Donât be afraid to ask them âAre you thinking of killing yourself?â or call them back when you get that text at 2am saying âI donât want to be here anymoreâ. Even if they believe itâs a secret, they are telling YOU because they value and trust you with their life. Itâs better to lose a friendship for a couple days/months/weeks than it is to lose a friend forever. You are all the difference between someone waking up tomorrow and someone never waking up again.
There is hope and you are it.

Has anyone mentioned yet how our schools and education will be affected without net neutrality?
Think about schools who already have ridiculously low budgets that have to stop using important and useful sites on the internet because they canât afford it.
Think about schools that CAN afford it, but have students who canât access their work at home and struggle to keep good grades because of it.
Think about college students who struggle to even keep their apartments and get food on the table who suddenly canât afford to access sites they need for their classes.
Iâm no professional on this stuff. I donât know exactly how it would work for education, but either way the removal of net neutrality is going to negatively affect everyone (except your service providers).
Alright Folks
A huge vote is coming up. One where net neutrality could be sent to the guillotine. I must urge everyone who can to call their congress represenitive to do so. Let it be known that we do not want our favorite sites to be throttled, or placed behind some pay wall. That just because the big ISPs are going to be âtransparentâ about their practices, doesnât make them any less unethical. Battleforthenet.com is still running and will connect you to your representative. Letâs give them one final push to our side; the side they are supposed to be on. We can do this!
If you canât call them, then reblog this. Make it spread like the plague. And donât give up hope.
I heard that people did not like Coco and critize it
As a mexican I must say:
The movie portrays the mexican culture almost perfectly
The Mexican Towns are like this.
In the streets we do see sellers and craftworkers.
The houses do have this architecture
The facial and body features are like mexican people. I was honestly surprised of the accuracy in the hands, expressions.
Mexican families do behave this way and it shows perfectly that our families are matriarchies
The Land of the Dead has buildings with porfirian architecture that can be seen in every cityâs downtown.
The story of how family needs to support your decisions really touched me
The fucking ending man
I cried
I legit cried
I never cry
It is beautiful and it broke my heart twice
Throughout all the movie ibwas screaming YES THIS HAPPENS HERE YES I KNOW THIS YES YES YES
As a mexican I felt really proud of my culture
It has nothing to do with the Book of Life
Nothing!!!!
I was expecting the same
It wasnât
Las Flores de Cempasuchil looked real
Wow
Just
Wow
Go watch it
The only thing that sucked from this movie??

You know, one of the worst parts about being an incredibly easily-inspired person is that you start to lose yourself in what you see. One second, you want to sit down and draw to your heartâs content, the next, you want to write a series of novels, and the next, you want to make discoveries that expand humankindâs knowledge of the universe and beyond. All because you see a post, a drawing, a slip of writing discussing any of these things. And you lose yourself within that. You lose your identity. You feel like you donât even have one to begin with, like youâre a jumbled mess of things and not something of your own.Â
And then the cycle repeats, over and over and over. One minute youâre inspired, and the next, youâre wondering what youâre even here for. Youâre terrified of making concrete decisions for your future because what if it isnât you?Â
