The startled nurse ran to the patient's side, visibly shaken. It was foolish of her to have hesitated before, it seemed she had been too hung up on his intentions. She was overthinking things, her paranoia running rampant in her mind.
Pushing these thoughts aside to the best of her ability, she moved the patient out of the waiting room after going through the normal procedures for a heart attack. She worked swiftly despite being in a dissociative state, her hands moving routinely as she watched from the sidelines. She had been so careless before and now someone was paying for it…
As her racing thoughts began to slow, her attention was pulled back into reality as she heard a sound from where he was. There were only a few patients at the currently residing in the clinic, so she allowed him the privacy of his own room.
❛ A-Are you o-okay? Do you remember anything? ❞
Takumi laid in a bed completely still. His chest sat heavy against him with a deep pain that practically weighed him down. Hearing the nurse working around him, he turned his head slightly toward the sound of her voice. Willing his eyes open was a struggle, but they soon gave in.
Vision blurry at first but easing into focus, Takumi looked at the angel of death that had cared for him. The room around them was silent, there was nobody else here. The small draft gave him a chill, but he appreciated the cool air.
“..Ngh.”
Sitting up on the bed, he leaned against himself for support. A disgustingly achy wave of pain hovered in his chest.
“I remember..” Not much, actually. He’d walked in with a set task in mind but now, that was different. The feelings that danced in his heart provided a clarity he didn’t realize he was lacking. There was much more to this nurse than he anticipated - that’s what he sensed at lest.
He looked away from her for a moment, already feeling the blush building up in his cheeks. “C-Can you remind me?”
