Do you think it’s possible that some people are born to give more love than they will ever get back in return?

❛ and her eyes could make the brightest stars look dull.
As she grabbed his hand and got up, Soarin pulled her closer, a hand around her waist. “Not a curfew, huh? But it’s still impolite to keep you up so late the first date”, he pointed out, “besides, you’re not eating nothing, so you won’t have energy enough to keep up with the night”, he commented as his thumb went up to touch her lower lip, “and if you only knew how much I was craving to clean the sugar of the dessert from these pretty lips”, Soarin added with a little smile.
Tal didn’t expect him to pull her close after what just happened. She put her hand on his back as she looked up at him. “Who said I wanted to stay up?” She raised her eyebrow, smirking a little. Because her idea was more laying in a bed and talking. She wasn’t sure what to say as she blushed.
“It must’ve been the wine”, he chuckled. “A dancing goddess. Are you sure Zeus is not following you or something?”, he asked with a wink. “Even though it ended bitterly?”, he asked a little more serious this time. “Oh, you know what I mean. You’re not gonna think I believed that stomach irritation, right? I live my life making up excuses, I know how to recognize one”.
“Maybe so,” she agreed. “You mean Terpsichore? Even though technically she is the Goddess of dance and chorus. I’m pretty sure Zeus isn’t following me even though it would be very cool.” She bit her lip. “It’s the good parts that matters not the bad,” she commented. “If you think it’s an excuse, then why do you think I didn’t eat?” Tal wondered.
“You didn’t ruin anything”, he stated in a serious way as he cleaned his mouth with the napkin and finished his glass of wine. He didn’t know if he was upset about her not wanting to eat, about the topic about giving up previously touched or just annoyed by the fact that he couldn’t get himself to consider her another toy for his game. He stood up and after getting the chair back on its place he walked to her side offering a hand to help her get up. “Let’s get going. I would hate to drop you at home too late”.
Tal was ready to argue but she just kept her mouth closed, not in the mood to even try and state a case on why she thought she ruined the date. She sipped a little more of the wine before just leaving it on the table. Tal took his hand and got up. “It’s not like I have a curfew or anything,” she muttered.
“You didn’t”, he smiled, “wow, that sounds impressive”, he admitted. “Glad to hear that, But anyway, will you accept an invitation to eat something or will you make up another excuse?”, he asked, probably more sassy than intended.
“I guess it slipped my mind,” she laughed a little. “Thanks, it’s kind of my entire life,” she shrugged. “It was the best date I ever had in my life.” Tal sighed, moving her hair into a ponytail. “What might you mean by that?” She asked, playing dumb.
Soarin was far from smiling, in fact, when she spoke, he found himself forced to draw a little smile upon his features. He made a gesture to the waiter with the hand and the man approached, taking Tal’s plate away. “I understand, it’s alright”, he replied with a little smile. Soarin played along, even though he could recognize an excuse in seconds. He was a master of excuses. “I’ll try to make something less irritant next time”. He commented. There was no point on continue eating if his partner wasn’t so the waiter was called to take his plate away as well. “Since we’re not eating anything else, I think we’re done for the night”.
Tal could feel the atmosphere change in a matter of seconds and she didn’t really like the feeling of it. “I’m sorry, I didn’t want to ruin this,” she sighed. She hated that she couldn’t even bring herself to even take a small bite. “That sounds nice,” she gave him a soft smile even though she knew the same thing was going to happen and she hated herself for making him think it was going to end in a different result. She frowned when his plate was taken too, so she sipped the wine in her glass. “Oh, okay...”
“No? Why would I do that? I mean… I can see why, but I’m not joking with you”, Donnie pointed out. “Oh, does it bother you?”, he asked straightening his back, “and I thought I was the one asking a lot of questions. “It’s courtesy, lovely Tal. Courtesy”, he chuckled, “that’s what I said, didn’t I? Do you accept?”
“Then thank you,” she smiled. “Not at all,” Tal shook her head a little. “I’m sorry about the questions. I’m just very curious about everything. That’s understandable.” She laughed lightly. “I just wanted to make sure I wasn’t hearing things but yes, of course!”
“I can see that. You never told me you danced. I would have taken you to dance in our first date, then”.
“I didn’t? I’m sorry about that. I’m a Dance Major at the Community College. But our first date was really amazing, I wouldn’t want to change it.”
“At least I try to”, he shrugged with a little smile. “You couldn’t be more right. What’s the fucking point?”, he asked without looking at her and then sighed, “just give up and whatever”. Soarin continued eating quietly. “Do you want me to tell the waiter to take your plate away? You don’t seem very comfortable”, he commented with an arched brow before taking a sip of his wine.
“You don’t have to,” she bit her lip for a moment. “Thank you, there’s no point,” she almost smiled but he wasn’t looking at her, “basically.” Tal frowned and nodded her head a little. “It’s just, my stomach been really sensitive lately and I don’t want to throw up or anything.” She lied, knowing it was the only excuse she could find to make him not feel bad about the food choice.
“Of course it was a compliment, what else could have been?”, he asked with a shrug. “Beautiful Tal. It’s a big pleasure to meet you. Oh, I have a club and we have shows every night and a dancer like you would be great addition. I’ll double the pay of wherever you’re working”.
“A weird remark to freak me out or something.” She chuckled a little. “You don’t have to call me beautiful, you know? Why is it a big pleasure? Wait, you want me to professionally dance at your club?”
–– “Okay, good point.” She laughed along. “You never know, though!”
“I really should though, I do love Japanese and Japan but I suck at English as it is and even Spanish.” She sighed. “Who would possibly let me go to Japan?”
–– Danny was sure he entered the wrong place. The girl dancing was not Chrissy. He felt awkward walking in like that, so he tried to slip away before she could see him.
It was fairly easy for Tal to spot the guy through the mirror when she looked for a moment. She was confused when he slipped out of the room so instead of continuing, she followed behind him. “Hey!” She called out.
–– “They’re the Japanese alphabets, honey. They have different types.” She explained. “It really is. I could show you pictures if you want.”
“I didn’t know that, remember I never tried learning Japanese, I don’t even like subtitles.” She laughed. “It’ll just upset me since I won’t be able to ever go.”
