Consistency > Intensity
Many believe that intensity is the only way to achieve our goals. The truth is that steady and unwavering consistency is what leads to true progress.
Think about it, does your body transform by spending 5 hours for 3 days at the gym or by working out 45 minutes 5 days a week, every week? Do we become an expert by obsessing over a topic for a month or by becoming a student and learning about it consistently over years and decades?
The same idea applies to nature. One flood may erode the banks and rocks of a river, but it's the consistent stream of low pressure over hundreds of years that truly shapes it.
The lesson here is that while intensity may feel right in the moment, consistency will always win out over time. Those who lack full conviction in their commitment will eventually lose their enthusiasm. On the other hand, the results that build over time will overpower the short-lived enthusiasm of those who lack consistency.
So, reaffirm your commitment every day, and remember that consistency is the dominant trait of those that succeed over the long run.
