that one scene in book 3 where katara and toph are fighting and refusing to speak to each other and sokkas like I HAVE A GREAT IDEA and writes that fake apology letter and aangs like !!!! OMG UR SO SMART AND CLEVER anD INCREDIBLE!!! but it turns out that theyre both fools bc toph cant write

aang goes to sokka whenever he wants advice on How To Hit On Girls bc for whatever reason aang apparently thinks sokka is good with that (he is not) & sokka actually is weirdly supportive and hikes up a mountain just so that aang can pick some flowers

Between Yue/Katara and Sokka/Zuko, the water tribe kids sure seem irresistible to royalty

Idk about Katara but Sokka = royalty kryptonite

1. Yue had a PHAT crush on him from minute 1.

2. Sokka just showed up to the Northern Water Tribe with a boomerang and some cool stories and Chief Arnook was like “I respect this boy more than I have ever respected Hahn and I trust him with my daughter’s life”

3. The Earth King just vibed with him so hard? Kuei met this random water tribe kid who was able to articulate about 4 things and was like “I like this kid, I would trust him with my life, give all the nice belts to the water tribe boy.” But more importantly, Bumi vibed with him as he was Aang’s friend (because we all know Bumi is the REAL Earth King).

4. Prince of the Fire Nation is WEAK for him and would break into the most secure fire nation prison despite being a wanted traitor to help him out

5. Azula may not like him, but he has been one of the only people who’s successfully intimidated her and she respects him as a leader (The Day of Black Sun, The Boiling Rock)

Katara might be sweet and polite when necessary, but she’s not here to be confined by your polite society or gender norms. Sokka on the other hand, is a Stuff(tm) Gremlin and loves being treated like the treasure he is and every royal figure he comes across just picks up on that and wants to validate him.
