My plan for this week
I have many many things to do this week but the priorities are getting the classroom laptops back into the classrooms and getting the Apple VPP up and running and the MDM solution working correctly. All this so we can get the new iPads into class and start to retire the old netbooks. The netbooks run windows XP and Internet explorer 8. Our blog on our website, however, needs at least IE 10 to function properly. Now i can upgrade all the netbooks to Windows 7 but if we are getting rid of them in favour of iPads it seems like a waste of time. So, instead im going to get the iPads in instead. I've already set our VPP account up and set up facilitator users. I just need to put credit on the account and connect it to our MDM solution. We will be using purchase orders for credit soon and we will then be invoiced every month but for now, for testing, ill be using a gift card to get credit on there. I'm hoping to get the iPad order in this week. Amongst other things on the order will be 30 iPad air tablets. These will be replacing staff ipads and the staff iPads will be going into class. Ill be posting future updates about my MDM solution and my work with VPP. Hopefully things shouldn't be too painful.
Just a quick note. I'll try and keep the mistyped words down to a minimum but in typing this on my Nokia Lumia 520 windows phone. Over the last couple of days I've been working on a video for one of our Christmas performances. Its taken over most if my days to be honest. I've been using Adobe Premiere Pro CC. Absolutely brilliant bit of software. More to come when in back on my pc or iPad.
Changing the product key in Windows 8 Pro
In order to change the product key in Windows 8 pro you need to run command prompt, with elevated privileges and type the following command:
Cscript.exe %windir%\system32\slmgr.vbs /ipk <product key - including hyphens>
You will then get confirmation that the product key has been successfully changed. After that you can activate windows.
