DARKNESS LED TO SILENCE , SOMETHING svea still didn’t know if she liked . loneliness was her end all , but the darkness was her comfort ; perhaps , if she were all alone in the darkness , she might have issues . but she’s never alone , not really . especially not now , stuck in a hotel full of stars & celebrities , some clutching golden awards while others have to go home empty - handed . the plush chairs in the hotel lobby are filled , mostly with non - celebrities , the bodyguards , the personal assistants , the personal photographers .
she’s found a corner with another musician , zion , who she’s been chatting absent - mindedly with for what seems like hours . it’s probably only been five minutes at most , but time is a man - made concept , she doesn’t have to believe it if she doesn’t want to .
‘ so tell me what you do first when you’re in the studio , ’ she questions , leaning back in her chair & kicking her legs up on the coffee table between them . ‘ melody or lyrics ? ’ it’s a good inquiry , one she asks every single artist she comes across & so far , it’s been a good mix . she can’t say she does the same one every time , since she can’t make lyrics without a melody , but she can’t make a melody without lyrics . ‘ it’s for science . ’
