Today's show features Poet Cristina Pena. Ms. Pena is originally from Denver, Colorado, but currently lives in New York City, where she teaches adult education classes in the Bronx. She is a queer, mixed-race woman, and as such much of her work explores voice, identity, and power. Her poems have been featured in a number of magazines and anthologies, and she published a full-length collection in Spring 2014. She was also featured poet at the Mass Poetry Festival in Salem, MA. In her free time, she enjoys spending time in nature and teaching her dog silly tricks. She shares some of the poems from the book.
