. . . > [you’re all i have.]
> @sanscouer, 𝙼𝙸𝙲𝙷𝙰𝙴𝙻.
tally doesn't know much about him still, admittedly. there are little shards of his past that come out through his words, cutting his tongue and his lips as they do. they reopen the same old wounds, unless they're splitting open a new one. and she's not mad about his quietness either; she'd be the same if she knew how to sew her mouth shut. she tells him everything. every damn embarrassing thing.
from what tally's gathered, he's alone. lonely, even. sometimes he feels like an odd reflection of herself with some of the things they share. born to lose, the two of them. no guardians and no angels, just a dingy streetlight to bring them home.
tally thinks on it herself. that she's alone. her apartment sits in the dark, littered with wires and old electronics, and the only time she sees someones face is when her computer turns off and she sees her reflection staring back at her. for as miserable as this job is, to put it simply, it is all she really has.
" you're all i have, too, " she reaches out for his hand, gently intertwining their fingers. she's used to feeling cold, but she feels warmth instead. " so it's not so bad. "
. . . > [don’t be gone, please don’t be gone.]
> @sanscouer, 𝙼𝙸𝙲𝙷𝙰𝙴𝙻.
" hey, hey, " she reaches to cradle his face in her hands; she brushes away any loose strands of hair out of his eyes. " i'm right here. i'm here. " normally she'd feel the opposite, but she can feel her heart racing and how it thumps against her chest. it's an unsettling reminder she doesn't enjoy facing. " i'm here. "
. . . > [together again.]
> @sanscouer, 𝙼𝙸𝙲𝙷𝙰𝙴𝙻.
" i didn't think you'd miss me that much, " she absently spins around in the office's chair, old tablet in hand. tally isn't entirely sure what she'd call michael (is he a friend or just a workplace acquaintance?) but whatever he is, it beats having to do the night-shift alone. " it's only been like, a day, mike. "
