Black Panther: Wakanda Forever - Tenoch Huerta as ‘Namor’.
Namor
capdnvrs:
There were a lot of places she would have preferred to be than on the beach. Carol had never really been a sand kind of girl; she had grown up away from the shore and the waves. Now, she spent most of her time in space. The beach usually meant vacation and Carol Danvers wasn’t a woman who remembered to take time off. “Personally?” She came to a stop. “I prefer being off-planet because you’re right: the air quality is getting worse by the day.” The sand squished underneath her boots. Her arms came to cross over her chest, a polite smile pasted on. She pointed at herself. “Carol Danvers. Thanks for coming up to talk.” It was best to start polite and hope it didn’t devolve from there.
.
“Off-planet?” Namor’s gaze slid from the water to the stranger and he assessed her through narrowed eyes. “Give them time and even the stars will be ruined.” He did not meet her smile with his own but he made a low sound of approval, gave a small nod. The surface’s misuse of what they were given was foolish to dismiss. A pleasant surprise but he did not hold onto such pleasantries for long. “Here,” he started, then tilted his head and shifted his feet in the sand. “I am Namor.”
“Who has your allegiance, Carol Danvers?”

Jake slowly lifted his head up, fully donning Khonshu’s armor as he tilted his head at the strange man before him. Their mission for the night was done, much to Marc’s dismay, but Marc didn’t really have a say in it. If Jake needed the body, he’d take it. And when Khonshu came calling, it was rarely an option to call out sick. He’d just taken a minute to breathe along the coast after running down several blocks when the other man made his presence known. “What?”
The Feathered Serpent, hmm.
Khonshu hummed from a few feet away along the water, which only added to Jake’s confusion as he stood himself up and kept the suit on.
.
The feathers at his ankles fluttered as Namor eyed the figure wrapped in white. Conspicuous. The corner of his mouth shifted upward, amusement clear in the arch of his brow. His jewelry clinked as he turned to face the man and he angled his head back, eyes narrowed.
“Your air,” he said. “It is filthy, not fit for gods or men.”
A slow, languid blink followed and then he chuckled.
“Which are you?”
"I have many names. My people call me Aj K'uk'ulkan, but my enemies call me Namor."
I call him Daddy
jabariiking:
“Nothing is good enough for you, is it Fish Man?” Unimpressed, M’Baku crossed his arms as he replied. Then he let out a huff of air through his nose. “It is because of Shuri that you and I are here. She is the Black Panther, but I am King of Wakanda. And the King of Wakanda still does not trust you.” The last few words were drawn out and low for emphasis. “If we are to remain allies, that must change.”
.
Fish man. Namor shot the man, M’Baku, a sharp look. Dark brows arched, his mouth in a tight line. Then he huffed out a sound of petulant amusement, his head cocked to the side. “Nothing here ever will be,” he answered. “You may be King because of Shuri but you live because of my clemency.”
A moment was taken to breathe before he spoke again. The surface air against his skin pushed and pulled at his temper.
“...Just as I live because of hers.”
He considered what M’Baku said and looked across the water again. The world beneath it, the one above it. Two halves of a whole, splintered along the seam. Years and years he had gone without parley, without yielding. The seas did no such thing but for now, the waves could part.
“Talokan extends its resources in the reconstruction and re-fortification of your city,” he said quickly. “Is this the change you wish to see, King M’Baku?”

Talokan’s sun rose steadily and the seaweed, the seagrass, bent to embrace its light. Sleep did not come easily to Namor that night and he watched it rise and fall without so much as stirring from where he sat. As long as he breathed, his people would not go without its light. Never again. Even if he had to tear down the surface dweller’s own, drown it beneath the waves to give it to them.
He was ready for that day, in spite of what alliances he made with the surface.
K’uk’ulkan stirred when a ball from one of the children’s games came towards him. They offered for him to join but he simply smiled, ruffled their hair, and sent them on their way. Later, he promised. He sensed Namora’s presence before the water shifted beside him and he turned to look at her.
“Ka'a suku'un,” he called. “Ba'ax a preocupa?”

Every step upon the surface made his lip curl and his mood sour but Namor persisted. There was no other choice. Not anymore. The cold winds disturbed the sand at his bare feet and he folded his arms across his chest, stared across the water. This place’s air sat like oil in his lungs, along his skin. His frown deepened.
“Disgusting,” he said. “How do you all breathe like this?”
