Ever feel like you have to jumble through too many apps in a day? Did you read this article and feel as though it describes your feelings entirely? Meet Tami, your newest, brightest, personal contextual assistant. Tami was created to address the concern about having too many apps - a challenge many of us face today. Having too many apps takes away users’ focus and it is increasingly difficult to make an app stand out among the competition.
Tami takes advantage of the current evolution of smart cities and makes use of it as best it can to help you. Now, Tami isn’t “just another app”, Tami is a multitask app that helps you find what you need faster, providing it before you ask, using the local IoT. Our reason for making Tami is to provide a super app, like the one in the article.
Some examples? Tami will take you to the closest public parking lot based on your current location while driving, if you choose to accept its recommendation. Using the “My Places” feature, you can set the location in advance as well, so that when you get close, Tami will let you know where to go. If you’re not really sure where to go at noon, Tami could recommend you some nice places for lunch, maybe even find some sweet deals. If you’re on vacation visiting some famous landmark bustling about trying to read that sign everyone else is in front of, Tami could help give you some background information, and in your native language too! And the list goes on.
The name Tami can mean beautiful, brilliant and caring. Our goal while creating Tami was to encompass these three things within our design. The goal of Tami is to become the connector between people in the community and local business entities, and doing it at your convenience. Built for people on the go, Tami will provide the information you want, by basing it off your location, the time of day and your current activities. Today’s society never stops, so why should you?
