Starting from Thursday January 1st, this blog will be inactive since the purpose is to keep the URL and I have been feeling overwhelmed with my original blog, @wearywoes. I am doing better so I will return to it. It is up to you if you wish to follow me there. Otherwise, thank you so much for the support. It means a lot! 💖
may 2026 bring us closer to a Palestine liberated from zionist occupation, and a Democratic Republic of Congo and Sudan free from proxy exploitation. May 2026 see more people gain the courage to make the world a little better than before. May we all remember to tend seeds whose trees we may never sit beneath. Consider donating to/sharing The Sameer Project, or Khartoum Aid Kitchen or Focus Congo. All power to all the people. Happy new year.
With the new year around the corner, many of us will be reflecting and figuring out on how to improve our personal development. This includes our health, our relationships, our career, our education, our home, and our finances.
For the people in Palestine, they do not have the same opportunity as us. They will not be thinking about their futures once the clock strikes midnight. They could not for the past two [2] years. All they could think about is how to survive for the next day, the next hour, the next minute and second.
So please keep talking about Palestine. Continue to boycott, donate and protest! Consider helping Suad (@tinyheartbeat)! I have the wonderful opportunity to know her and be her friend over the past year!
She is kind, intelligent, resourceful, and resilient. And she loves with all of her heart. She loves her one [1] year son, her husband, her parents, her brothers, her in-laws, and her grandparents. They, expect for her brother and father, are with her in Nuseirat. They are in a tent that has flooded. They are freezing due to the cold. They need medication. So please donate and share. You can give as little as a dollar and in your own currency, such as AUD, CAD, EUR, GBP, or USD! Her fundraiser is verified (#279).
Please donate here. / Donation Match.
Tagging for reach. Please leave an ask if you wish to be removed. Thank you.
We are 5 hours away from the new year! This is exciting but let's not forget the people in Ghazzah. They need our help and we should do everything that we can to support them! Please think about donating to Suad and her family so we can reach the 7K mark as soon as possible! There is $130 to go!
Sokoto state, a majority Muslim state in north-west Nigeria was bombed on Christmas day.
It is still unclear how many bombs were dropped and where. Confirmed is a bomb dropped on a Mosque in Jabo, killing 5 people.
Trump has claimed that this is in retaliation of the "Christian genocide" happening in Nigeria, committed by "radical Islamists" of the ISIL (ISIS), and the specific choosing of Christmas day was to reify that this is a religious based retaliation.
This Christmas, I am in Nigeria. My family is majority Christian. We are without fear of being persecuted on the basis of our religion. So, what is going on?
There is no Christian genocide in Nigeria. Nigeria is a complex country that faces a lot of violence, exploitation and subsequent neglect from our government. But it is not Christians being targeted in our country. This insidious piece of misinformation has been dutifully organised by US officials for months and gained steam on platforms like X and Truth Social.
I do not believe though, that this action was done to fight Islamic terrorists or protect Nigerian Christians. The reason being:
Sokoto state is not a state with ISIL activity.
This is another display of US throwing its weight around, conveniently, onto the most oil-rich country in Africa.
Do not believe everything the US tells you about its foreign affairs. The US will gladly spill blood on the flimsiest of justifications just to continue gorging its empire.
Please keep love in your hearts for the Nigerian people.

HEADS UP: The U.S. Postal Service quietly changed how postmarks work.
Mail is no longer automatically postmarked with the date you drop it off. Instead, the postmark now reflects the date it’s first processed by an automated sorting facility — which can be days later.
If you mail something right at a deadline, the official postmark could be later than your drop-off date and may be considered late.
If mailing date matters to you, go inside the post office and request a hand-stamped postmark.
A new USPS postmark rule may cause property tax payments to look late even when people mail them on time. The change can create surprise lat
"Israel’s" recognition of Somaliland may mark the beginning of a broader regional strategy, with behind-the-scenes moves suggesting a potential expansion of Israeli involvement in southern Yemen, according to a report by Kan 11.
Roi Kais, head of the Arab affairs desk, reported that while UAE-backed forces in southern Yemen have not officially responded to the recognition of Somaliland, internal discussions suggest they are hoping to be next in line for Israeli recognition of an independent southern Yemeni entity.
According to Kais, "Israel's" collaboration with a future independent entity in southern Yemen, if established, could serve as a serious strategic threat to Ansar Allah, which controls much of the north. The region’s proximity to the Red Sea only heightens its strategic importance.

Viola Ford Fletcher, the oldest survivor of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, has died at the age of 111, Tulsa Mayor Monroe Nichols announced Monday.
"Today, our city mourns the loss of Mother Viola Fletcher - a survivor of one of the darkest chapters in our city's history. Mother Fletcher endured more than anyone should, yet she spent her life lighting a path forward with purpose," Nichols said on social media.
"Mother Fletcher carried 111 years of truth, resilience, and grace and was a reminder of how far we've come and how far we must still go," he said. "She never stopped advocating for justice for the survivors and descendants of the 1921 Tulsa Race Massacre, and I hope we all can carry forward her legacy with the courage and conviction she modeled every day of her life."
Fletcher, a grandmother of six, told CBS News in a 2021 interview that she thought about the massacre every day.
Tulsa's Greenwood District, which was known as "Black Wall Street," was destroyed by a White mob after a Black man was accused of assaulting a White woman. At least 300 Black residents were killed, and thousands were left homeless following the daylong massacre in which White rioters attacked Black residents, looted businesses and burned buildings.
The National Guard was brought in, imposing martial law and helping to round up and imprison Black people. More than 35 blocks were charred and 6,000 people were held in detention — some for up to eight days, according to the Tulsa Historical Society and Museum.
"We had friends and played outside and [would] visit with neighbors and was happy there with our parents. Just loved being there," Fletcher told CBS News, recalling Greenwood before the massacre.
