chapter three : rom-com gone wrong
you turn my phone off as your mother pulls into the driveway of your new home. you look our the window, hands trembling—most definitely not from excitement. you see mitsuki bakugo. she looks almost the exact same since you last saw her years back.
you feel nauseous. this town holds so many memories, some good but the terrible ones seem to consume and flood your brain. the car comes to a stop and your mom shifts the gear into park. your stomach aches with anxiety.
she looks next to you in the drivers seat, smiling gently, “you ready?” no. no your not. you just simply nod in response. she unbuckles her seatbelt and opens her car door. she practically jumps out of the car, speed walking to the house next to ours. quickly pulling mitsuki in for a hug. you watch from the window, preparing yourself to walk out of the car.
as your quietly pepping yourself up, your mom looks behind her to the car your sitting in, giving you a knowing look that screams don’t be rude and come out. you sigh to yourself quietly, unbuckling the seatbelt. struggling slightly and cursing yourself for it. you open the door, hands still trembling and that sickly feeling stays in the pit of your stomach.
mitsuki’s face brightens as she watches you walk towards the two of them. you reach the spot in front of the bakugo house where your mother and her stood. she smiled at you, “holy sh-“ she quickly cut her off, giving an apologetic look to your mother, “wow. you’ve grown so beautifully.” your face turned red, you gave a shy smile in response. she pulled you in for a hug, “it’s so nice seeing you.” she mumbled in the hug, pulling away.
“it’s nice seeing you again, mitsuki.” you spoke but is came out as more of a squeak. your mother smiled at you and so did mitsuki. her smirk dropped as she looked at her watch, “where is this fuckin’ kid.” she muttered. my heart sank to my feet. she must be talking about katsuki bakugo. “one moment,” she said looking at your mother, “no worries.” your mom said with a candy sweet tone.
she opened the front door, giving one last apologetic glance to your mother before she yelled, “katsuki bakugo! get your ass down these fucking stairs!” your mom chuckled at the sight, while you looked like a deer in headlights. she turned back to face the two of you, “masaru should be joining us for dinner, he’s at work.” she she said those words, you averted your gaze to the open door as you see a slightly angry looking figure walking down the stairs.
he huffed as he walked next to the blonde woman, avoiding anyone’s gaze with a familiar look on his face. your palms grew sweaty. your mothers smile grew, “katsuki! it’s so nice seeing you. it’s been a long time.” he nodded, “good seeing you too.” he muttered. mitsuki pinched his stomach, “quit being rude! greet them!” he groaned, finally meeting you eyes. you felt stupid, your heart was racing, your face was hot, you felt like you were broadcasted to the whole world with the amount of nerves that spread through your body.
he had grown up a lot and looked quite different. he was no longer shorter than you, he was actually much taller now. he looked around 5’10. he grew into his body, no longer had baby fat. his face much sharper, jaw line more defined. he looked like he worked out quite often, muscles filling the white tee shirt he wore. he was no longer the scrawny thirteen year old boy—no he looked like a man. and it was quite scary.
the tip of his ears got red as he looked at you, you looked away. fuck you were so staring. whoever is praying on your downfall got their wish. his mother pushed his arm. signaling to greet you. he huffed like a angry dog, walking closer to you, your eyes were blinking more than usual uncontrollably. your mom gave you a weird look as she sparked up a conversation with mitsuki so the attention was no longer on the two of you.
“uh. hey.” he spoke, avoiding your face. you felt as if all air left your body in that moment. “hey, katsuki.” you responded in a quiet manner, not because you were being respectful. more so you were being eaten alive by nerves. there was an awkward silence. “uh you look, different?” it came out as more of a question than a statement. what is wrong with you oh my god. different? no shit!!
he simply just huffed as a response.
“katsuki, go show y/n your room or something, im going to show m/n around.” he groans—very clearly annoyed.
ok so this is a shit show. a complete and utter shit show.
