❝ Who knew that hiding from the paparazzi's over-seeing eyes could be so exhausting... ❞
His Majesty; Malignance | Kirigiri Kyouko
It seemed that today wasn’t what he would call a lucky day, that much had become obvious to him the very moment he could feel the young woman’s touch against his body, warm and gently squeezing through the fabric of his uniform, the only thing that separated the two of them from directly touching each other. Almost immediately, he could feel his body tense, freezing as his shoulders hitched up, as if trying to shake her off, but without any results whatsoever.
Hastily, and possibly a bit clumsily too, he managed to turn around on his heels, olive green hues meeting with the purple gems that shone back into his direction, reflecting the light inside of them in a manner that made him wonder if she was crying or not. There seemed to be no tears though, yet together with the slight flush of red that now decorated her porcelain skin, her face looked almost shockingly adorable and if he was still able to move before, he certainly lost his ability to take action by now.
Lowering the hands he had instinctively raised while turning, he stared at her once again, swallowing while taking a deep breath, as if to confirm to himself that he was still alive and functioning. He tried to take a step backward, just one to keep the distance between the two of them acceptable, but no matter what he did, his feet wouldn’t move an inch, glued to the ground as if it was their very own will to obey and fulfill the girl’s wish.
Was the reason she wanted him to stay so badly because of what he had said earlier? He would have figured that a SHSL student like her had a better idea of spending her time peacefully, but maybe she was bored or wanted to mess with him. If he remembered correctly, it wasn’t too uncommon that some of the elite students looked down on the Reserve Course, which was nothing he had to complain about, considering the fact that even though their words were hurtful, they spoke of nothing but the bitter truth.
Straightening his position, he let his eyes wander over her body, taking in the cute, yet overwhelmingly demanding view in a poor attempt to process and make sense of the situation he was forced to face. What did this girl want from him, exactly? Asking her directly would be the easiest option to solve this mystery, yet for some reason his lips were sealed, as if his body was telling him to keep quiet and wait for the girl to nod and allow him to speak freely. Remaining silent, he listened to her sweet voice, eyes widening in slight disbelief when she shot her question at him.
Was she honestly interested in him as a person? No, certainly not. Maybe she wanted to go and report him to the headmaster for the earlier harassment he had accidentally put her through. If he was being honest to himself though, that seemed like an even less likely possibility. She had a powerful aura around her, but there was something that told him that she wasn’t here to cause him trouble, nor that she was the person that would want to cause anyone trouble. Like a rose, protected by a clean glass, glittering in the morning sun, that’s how she had appeared in front of him. There were certainly thorns, but unless you kicked the glass over, there was no way they’d ever sting you.
Returning her gesture, he bowed slightly, keeping his head lowered for a little bit longer than planned, before standing up straight again, thinning his eyes and biting his lip, unable to clearly figure out what to do. "I-it’s nice to meet you, Kirigiri", he muttered, voice slightly raised in both tone and pitch. "My name is Hajime Hinata."
There was another moment of silence, awkwardly dragging on while the two of them stared at each other, his heart skipping a beat as he tried to figure out what to do or say. "Y-you’re right, it would be strange, sorry about that."
Finally, an exhale of relief left the girl as he returned her gesture and spoke, however nervous he appeared to be. She hadn't even touched him earlier, yet he appeared to tense up with the heat of her hand hovering above his shoulder. Was he just timid, or socially awkward? had she terrified him somehow? He seemed briefly intrigued by her for whatever reason earlier... Had she discarded that interest by actually speaking?
Shaking that thought out of her head for the sake of not wanting to judge him without knowing a thing about him, she played it off as softly shaking her head as a 'no' towards his apology. Perhaps he was an introvert, or had the traits of a lone wolf. Someone who didn't enjoy speaking to or spoke to people often, for their own will or because it was forced upon them. Understandable and relatable, she supposed-- For her to ever have an experience as talking to another from another country that wasn't a political figure was rare... And, in a childish sense, exhiliarating!
{ ♔ } —
❝ There's no need for an apology, Hinata-kun! I apologise if I'm making you feel awkward... ❞
She paused, pushing a lock of vibrant lavender hair behind her ear. As a monarch, she should know how to keep someone calm and at ease within moments. However, as of right now, she didn't seem to be succeeding. She was still clueless about most things that made up her new companion-- His interests, his dislikes, his inspirations... And she was never going to find that out. Not unless she worked hard on growing this acquaintance into a blooming, blossoming friendship. Perhaps if she studied his reactions just a little more, she'd find his trigger-- The one that'd relax him and free him of the tension that had consumed his frame completely.
{ ♔ } —
❝ I suppose curiosity seemed to take over me. I apologise again if this appears too forward or makes you uncomfortable, but I find you to be quite intriguing, Hinata-kun! At least, that is my current first impression. ❞
Her hand finally left her hair, returning to her lap to join her other hand. It was unclear if she was testing certain lines and the like to see his reaction, but there was truth to her words. He had captured her current interest, and curiosity was allowing her to ask questions and state her thoughts out aloud. How she worded it, however, could be counted as testing. Not that anyone would really be able to tell, given her cheery tone. A simple benefit of rigorously training one's mindset, as well as other training exercises absolutely necessary to become the monarch she was-- And the identity of perfection she would become once coronated in a few short years.
"Woah…taught in Elementary School Curriculum? That’s so..impressive! Then again, I wouldn’t expect anything less then from someone like you!”
He considered telling her about what he had to do in elementary school, but..admittedly, she surely had some knowledge about what common people did, right? Princesses were only clueless in the movies, right? Man, when will he ever stop making these comparisons?
Honestly, he was still surprised that he manage to stay so calm and reserved around a princess…almost like she was just another classmate, or a kind stranger. Was it perhaps her calm and graceful, and not too strict attitude that was getting to him?
"Well, whatever you say! I-I’ll do my best to lend a hand, if it ever gets to it! You have my word! I am a gentleman in training, after all. D-do you perhaps need help with anything now?"
Of course, Travis was very confident that she could hold up by herself. Kirigiri didn’t seem like the type to easily be broken, despite him being quite able to read her.
She covered her mouth with a single gloved hand, giggling softly into it to stay polite. If she knew what he was thinking, she could say he even jinxed himself-- What with the sudden stutter that now bewitched his sentences. Removing her hand, she smiled at him again, silently contemplating to herself as to whether or not she actually needed help.
Of course she didn't need help. However, she didn't want to rid herself of this boy just yet. He was quite polite, as well as a good conversationalist. Surely she could find something for him to help her with, if only to prolong their meeting a little further.
{ ♔ } —
❝ Hm... Well, if it isn't too much of a bother... Do you think you could show me around, Torabisu-kun? I can look after myself just fine, but I'd rather know my way around a bit so I don't get lost. ❞
Her expression switched to that of a sheepish look, a quick exchange for anyone who was taking notice. Perhaps it was simply a look she was used to displaying, given her status. It certainly gave off the appeal to others.
{ ♔ } —
❝ Who knew so much could happen the one moment you vanish for a little while? ❞
The Princess and the Pauper || LucksterKirigiri
Days to weeks, weeks to months, months to years. Time is a never-ending cycle, continuing and only increasing as it passes by. There is no stop to it, or the emotions that it could resemble. Currently, the only emotion it resembled now was yearning, longing-- Grief.
Kyouko could still remember the day her father had left, a sister no more a kindred flame to her own disappearing along with him. Assumed dead, untraceable-- Lost within the unforgiving sea for betrayal to the Royal Family. A King that left his post and didn't consider his country first would never be referred in such high honours once more. Stealing a possible future heir to the throne as well was nothing more than a crime, only fitting of the punishment of death. For him to appear to watch a growing country crumble with a lack of order or rulers was the biggest betrayal anyone could commit, especially that of a monarch.
Never did Kyouko in all her years expect to find the 'kidnapped' monarch when she reached Japanese shores, nevertheless be attending the same school as her. A princess, forced into the life of a pauper in comparison, all due to a cruel twist of fate. But she hadn't confirmed her identity in full yet-- It was simply a Twin's Intuition.
A single, gloved hand reached out towards that who had appeared to share her same features, a doppelganger if they weren't in relation. Yet, she retracted her hand, instead calling out to the girl. To touch her would probably be rude, or spark something undesirable. All the monarch really wanted was to know if her heart was right about another thing--

❝ Excuse me, but is your name Kirigiri Kyoko? ❞
That she wasn't alone.
"Sat…riani? Woah, it sounds very pleasant. Ha, maybe I can convince my parents to visit someday as a vacation spot or somethin’ like that. You’ll never know!"
"…Sorry for asking, but…why did you decided for someone such as yourself to come here? You’re a princess of a land, don’t you have people to watch over? I don’t mean to make you paranoid, but this school has a lot of students that might try to hurt you and all!"
He made it very clear that he was quite concern about this matter. It always puzzled the young boy why such important people would decide to leave everything behind and join this school…is it really that good?
"D-do you at least get like…a security guard from time to time?"
She allowed a small chuckle to pass from her lips at his inquiry, a gloved hand covering her mouth politely as she did. After considering his inquiry once more, she folded her hands by her lap, smiling softly at him.

❝ Of course, Torabisu-kun. But anyone who is from my residence would know that a bodyguard isn't completely necessary twenty-four-seven. Not when self defense and combat is taught in elementary school curriculum. ❞
The small smile didn't leave her lips as she continued, attention still placed on the boy.

❝ They arrive and complete their task when necessary. As of right now, seeing as you are no immediate threat-- Or at least one I couldn't handle if you suddenly turned, they are unneeded. ❞

► Pick a card.
Tilting her head to the side in question, lavender hues glanced at the back of the cards with curiosity. Deciding to do as what was silently requested, she took the second card from the right.

❝ Is that all you wanted me to do...? ❞
Travis had encounter a lot of students with diverse talents, some strange, some…weird, but in the end, were all interesting. Yet, this one totally takes the cake. A Princess! A ruler of a land! His mind started to wander to those cheesy american movies about a princess entering a normal school and having to act normal and stuff. Was this the same situation for her?
"…..Oh, gosh, Excuse me, That was kind of…unexpected? That’s a really cool talent, though!"
“No wonder why you were kind of…. shocked when I said you looked familiar. Maybe you…. expected me to be….a bit more jubilant about you? You know, with princess and all.”
His speaking started to slow down at that last few sentences. Was he trying to read her emotions right now? Hard to say.
"Don’t worry about it, Kirigiri-san! I know you want to be really casual about this whole thing, so you’re just another kid to me, then! May I ask where exactly you rule with your Monarchy?"
He truly did live up to his talent, forcing a bewildered blink from the lavender-clad female. Had she been read so easily? Regardless of his talent-- This might be troublesome. Being read as openly as a children's picture book was not ideal for a monarch who had to stay strong for her country...
Ah, it was just her luck to run into an empath on the first day... But he wasn't from her country, so she supposed it was alright. Kyouko doubted he was some sort of National spy, trying to read her so he could cut her to pieces.
{ ♔ } —
❝ Ah... You truly do live up to your talent then, hm? I'm impressed, Torabisu-kun! It's not well-known, and for good reason, but I rule a small European monarchy between Japan and Australia named 'Satriani'. ❞
☮ //sneakily sneaks this in~ uou
Who wants kisses? Drop me a symbol!☮: A peck on your forehead.
A resounding thwack was enough to awaken the monarch from her daze, the sound of wood clashing and connecting with a different species of it’s kind filling the once silent room. It wasn’t common for her to stumble into the dojo, her only ambition to do so not for what it’s initial use was. Originally, she had taken the flight up the stairs to gaze wistfully at the shades of pink that decorated it so calmly. Cherry blossoms that knew the way of discipline, as well as hard work and determination — All sugar-coated by it’s beautiful appearance.
A certain cherry blossom she had taken interest in however looked only slightly different to the others that floated by her. This one still radiated with brilliance and strength, only it— No, she— Had a grey tint to her, scarlet red eyes that brightened up her form and spoke a story Kyouko Kirigiri had not yet had the privilege to know. This cherry blossom was different to all the others— This one had a name.
Pekoyama Peko, the Super High School Level Swordswoman. The title and name alone spoke of intimidation, something they both shared in common. Yet she was a flower many found too beautiful to pick, allowing her to grow and shine for others as well. Another strain on the line of social development, leaving another similarity between this Princess and Knight at guard.
{ ♔ } —
❝ Pekoyama-senpai...? You're tiring yourself out again, aren't you? Did something bad happen? ❞
She spoke softly, snapping the kendoka's attention away from the wooden soldier, meeting with her line of sight. Both girl's blinked silently, the clicking of Kyouko's heel now the only sound made in the room as she approached Peko, hands gently gripping onto her shoulders. They were taller, even on her low heels, forcing Kyouko to use her shoulders as leverage to go up on her toes. Hovering above her momentarily, pink lips pressed gingerly against the swordswoman's forehead.
{ ♔ } —
❝ You shouldn't be so hard on yourself, Pekoyama-senpai... ❞
She smiled, falling back on her heels in a simple, yet graceful movement. Pekoyama had no one looking out for her-- At least from what the monarch had seen. So, as her kouhai and friend, Kyouko had decided to look after her. It's the least she could do.
After all, even the strongest people need someone who's willing to protect them as well.

♛ [obviously]
Who wants kisses? Drop me a symbol!♛: One kiss upon your hand.
Gloved hands caressed the hand within their grasp gently, violet hues raising to glance at the man that had brought her to her knees. Nonviolently, surprisingly enough. She had been a secret puppet to him, a rag doll since he spared her for the simple thrill of fear. His sickening confidence and the adrenaline rush he got from her susceptible emotions only caused her to gag, a heavy heart regretting allowing herself to be spared for his sick pleasure.
❝ A fallen lioness. ❞
That’s what he had claimed her to be. A lioness, fallen, so weak that she only obeyed the Alpha male of the Pride. A Princess, forced under his heel. The heel of a peasant no more than the plaque that eroded the teeth of a child who forgot cleanliness. All coated in venom she’d spit at him if she had the chance.
She’d play along with his plans for now, waiting for her own chance to seek revenge. If it wasn’t for her fear of her country being without a ruler, she would have striked by now, instead of allowing her eyes drift off the cliff’s edge where they were seated.
This was simply another technique the murderer was using to threaten and intimidate the monarch. He would never kick her off the edge of the cliff— That wasn’t ‘fun’. It wasn’t his usual, tactical way of murder. To switch plans now and not take her life in the colourful, uncreative display he usually performed would be unethical. He’d be nothing without his stolen Jack-The-Ripper-Esque style that he enjoyed presenting to the police as a new art show piece.
Soft lips pecked his hand, using it as leverage to help herself up. This betrayed a mocking, yet hateful look from the Reserve student. Why was she standing? He didn’t remember giving her permission.
❝ Did I say you could move? Or should I reduce you back to the dirt you are again? ❞
She didn’t speak, instead using this moment and his standing position to thrust her leg forward, her foot expertly hitting him in the one place a man would never like to be hit. A cowardly shot, she knew that, but to disable him momentarily was all she needed. A lioness was resourceful, a lioness had tactics too.
A lioness would wait and strike when the time was most appropriate.
He sunk to his knees, spewing profanities, trying to reach out and grab her as he tried to conceal and stop the pain between his legs. She simply stepped back out of his reach, a confident scowl now gracing her features for the first time in his presence.
{ ♔ } —
❝ For a leader, you’ve made a mistake in your surroundings, Hinata-kun. ❞
A foot raised, pressing on his chest. His immobilisation wouldn’t last long— And it wasn’t as though she had tied him up beforehand. The next scene already looked like a cliche heroic act, even as much as she attempted for it not to. Not that she really cared at this point.
{ ♔ } —
❝ Consider yourself demoted. ❞
She remained emotionless, rising the leg that pressed into his chest, moving it to his side, before kicking in his direction, the force and limp of his body shoving him off the cliff.
She didn’t care if this made her a murderer. It’d be seen as a suicide in this scenario with no witnesses, and with her political security, she’d be fine. She had rid herself and the world of another burden, ensuring not only her own, but the safety of an entire Nation.
That’s all that mattered to her.
✈ (pretend im on my rp blog ;) )
Who wants kisses? Drop me a symbol!✈: A barrage of kisses all over your face.
A reassuring giggle could be heard behind the infirmary’s closed doors, followed by a small whine and sighs. An expected outcome, given the situation.
Nanami-san had fallen asleep once more, haphazardly falling in the most inconvenient of places. Without Kyouko there initially to catch and cushion her every fall, she had suffered a small cut to the head. Not anything major, but it was still enough to cause pain, especially when antiseptic was involved.
{ ♔ } —
❝ Isn’t this a little ironic, Nanami-san? The nurse being nursed for a change! ❞
She smiled, softly dabbing and fixing the wound with practised expertise. Being experienced in basic first aid was a life skill anyone should learn, especially convenient in small accidents such as this. With each dab, she received some sort of whine, provoking a sympathetic look to appear on the Princess’ features.
{ ♔ } —
❝ My apologies, Nanami-san. How insensitive of me… Will this help? ❞
She questioned, pressing her lips against the band-aid that now concealed the nurse’s wound. Silence blanketed the room, a minor panic being set off in Kyouko’s head, alarm bells uncertain as to whether or not she made the other uncomfortable.
❝ More please… ❞
The quiet voice caused a red fluster to light up her cheeks, forcing her to look away for a second. Another request of the same was made, a sheepish expression shot towards the pinkette before she finally smiled again, nodding as if saying “If you say so.”, before peppering the other’s face in kisses.
If kisses could really cure any wound, Nanami-san would be the healthiest person in existence.
His Majesty; Malignance | Kirigiri Kyouko
As far as Hinata was able to think back, luck had never been one of his most prominent features and the fact that exactly the possiblity he considered as a worst case scenario happened was further proof of that. He had nothing against talking to a pretty girl, quite the opposite, actually, but his cheeks were still tainted by a slight flush of red that simply didn’t want to leave, caused by his embarrassment over his previous actions.
Who in their right mind would simply stand there, flusteredly staring at a stranger, if not a complete creeper imagining the dirtiest fantasies with the innocent young lady in his sight of field? He definitely wasn’t that kind of person, but the situation seemed to make it painfully obvious that somewhere inside of him he was still a teenager, helpless when forced to face something he could only describe as pure beauty. He considered that maybe he should start focusing on learning how to control himself more, but no good resolution was able to drag him out of the trap he had inevitably set for himself in that very moment.
She had gotten up, walked towards him in smooth movements and remained next to him, close enough that just moving his hand a few inches was enough to touch her. A gentle scent of what he could only identify as rose wrapped around him, soothing the tension inside of him as he thought about what exactly he was supposed to do next. Maybe she wasn’t mad after all, considering the fact that she didn’t yell at him yet and if he was being honest with himself, someone as lovely as her would never be crude enough to start a fight in a library. Regardless, disappearing and pretending that nothing had happened sounded like an easier option to him. There were only five books left until his deed was done and he could leave, so if he just took them now and sorted them in while ignoring her, then maybe he was able to save himself in the end.
His throat dried when the young woman raised her voice, forming a question that was obviously directed at him while his hand grasped more tightly on the book he was holding, slowly letting his arm sink while his head turned towards the direction the voice was coming from. There was no way he was able to ignore her at this point, so he might as well take it like a proud young man and reply. Calm down, Hinata, there was no need to get so upset, even though she was incredibly intimidating, superior.
"No. I mean, yes, actually. This isn’t my book though, one of my class mates lent it. I’m just here to bring it back." Clearing his throat once, he paused, averting his glance once more in order to focus on what he had come here for in the first place. Reading the title again, he bent down slightly, placing the book in the very last row of the shelf before taking the next one out of the small box he had carried with him.
What the hell was he even saying? He wasn’t that big on crime, even though he couldn’t deny that he loved solving riddles and puzzles, but these usually went into the direction of jigsaw puzzles and other completely innocent games like that. He didn’t dislike reading crime novels, figuring out the culprit always gave him a feeling of satisfaction, together with a bunch of new ideas on how to set up his own murders. His methods were already set in stone, but even though it was fiction, it certainly was always nice to read about what you definitely should pay attention to if you didn’t want to end up getting caught.
The only true realization he had during his years of going through all kinds of books though was that the only perfect crime was the one that wasn’t considered a crime in the first place. If nobody realized something was wrong or missing, then nobody would start investigating and trying to solve the case. His crimes definitely weren’t perfect either, but he didn’t want to have it any other way. Without any kind of reactions or publicity, there was no point in doing what he did, after all.
However, the girl next to him seemed like she was really excited about possibly making the acquaintance of another person that was passionate about crime novels. It was almost sad how he had to let her down, but he figured maybe this was the easiest way to drop the conversation with her and be able to leave. Placing the last book he had carried with him inside of the shelf, he spoke up again, despite trying his best to keep his eyes away from the girl.
"Sorry to disappoint you. I’ll be gone in a second, then you have the whole section for yourself again." He wasn’t supposed to be here, after all. This library belonged to the authority, and even though he had come to lend books and bring them back several times already, he couldn’t shake off the feeling of not belonging.
It was like sneaking in on a VIP party you weren’t invited to, except nobody cared if you came or not, but you were still a stranger and not welcome. His chest clenched together at the thought, lips thinning into a line before he shut his eyes and turned around. Picking up his school bag, he only muttered a quick, "Goodbye", before he took the first few steps in an attempt to leave.
Lilac optics rounded and blinked quickly in question, befuddlement clear and in reaction to the boy's expression. A red fluster, as bright as the roses that now wafted her natural scent was far too obvious to miss, regardless of her usually secret analytic demeanor. She wouldn't deny that by the way he was reacting to her presence, it did appear to sound as though he was having any 'normal' teenage boy fantasy with her in question. To assume it was that immediately with barely any evidence would be childish, even to a point of narcissism. The best course of action for her right now was to fake obliviousness, whether the outcome be humourous for her in the least or provide more evidence.
As his hand tightened, clenching against the book in a show of possible anxiety, Kyouko wondered if she was as intimidating as most claimed her to be. Did she really have the power of freezing someone with her words alone, regardless of her Royal Status? A blessing and a curse, she supposed. On one side of the scale, she didn't mind being intimidating. She was able to rule perfectly, like an ice queen with a heart of gold. Yet on the other hand, she had a difficulty making friends or acquaintances. She'd only terrify them in some manner, may it be her status or her ever-changing demeanour. At most, she found it increasingly annoying.
❝ No. I mean, yes, actually. This isn’t my book though, one of my class mates lent it. I’m just here to bring it back. ❞
Her eyes lit up like light hitting a diamond, her expression beaming in his direction. It may not have been his book, but he did say he took a particular interest in crime novels. A common interest! That was a key that could begin a beautiful friendship, or acquaintance, at the very least! But he still appeared nervous, clearing his throat, averting his gaze once more. Did he identify her, and that was adding to his sudden nerves? Or was it something else entirely? Uncertainty clouded her mind, a small desperation to continue the conversation clogging up her throat. Instead, she paused, lilac hues scanning, scrutinising his very figure. She was no expert, but perhaps she could find something-- Anything-- A hint of his exact emotions, what he knew, how she could put him at ease. Even if that seemed impossible at that current moment.
❝ Sorry to disappoint you. I’ll be gone in a second, then you have the whole section for yourself again. ❞
Ah, no, he couldn't leave yet! He hadn't even given her his name! Slim, gloved hands reached out towards him as he turned away, stopping short as her fingers lingered by his shoulder. What if he didn't like being touched? It do so without consent... That'd be incredibly rude! Oh, this first impression was going horribly for her...
{ ♔ } —
❝ A-Ah, Sir! Please don't go just yet! ❞
She managed to stutter, cheeks flushing slightly in naive humiliation. Stuttering? That was unfitting of a Princess! Stop mucking this up, Kyouko! Bowing quickly as customary in Japanese culture, she took this moment to recompose herself, raising her head and sheepishly smiling at him once more.
{ ♔ } —
❝ My name is Kirigiri Kyouko. May I please ask of your name...? It would be... Strange to end the conversation here without an introduction. ❞
