Yang’s visage more than likely gave off a hint of the sudden emotions that washed over her. At first, she was shocked. Then angry. Then confused. It almost sounded like a compliment, and admittedly a bit of hypocrisy of Yang’s was if Leta was a guy she probably would have been knocked then and there. Instead, Yang just tried to play it off as awkward. Which it was!

“ Uh… thaaaanks. I just dress like this for me. I think what makes me popular is my awesome jokes and outgoing personality. ”

This girl was definitely a mystery to Yang. Leta was pretty hard to read, and Yang found her eyes straining to find even the most subtle of tells. Instead of guessing, Yang decided blunt honesty would be the best policy.

“ I can’t tell if you’re trying to get on my good side or bad side. You’d be great at poker! ”

“I’d play you under the table and put you out of a house and home.” Leta deadpanned with the utmost seriousness. Again, it was only her eyes that gave away that she was having a laugh at blondie’s expense. When was the last time a complete stranger approached her? Years? Far be it for her to turn down the opportunity for some rare amusement.

“I’m not really trying to get on either side.” Leta admitted with a shrug. “Trying to see what kind of person you are. And maybe poke a little fun, but that’s more of a side benefit.”

Leta knew she was hard to read. That was very intentional. Coming off like a slab of stone made people want to stay away, and that suited her just fine. Which made those that didn’t all the more curious. “So what’s your deal then? Friendly, outgoing type who saw someone sitting by themselves and decided that that wouldn’t do? Well, you get points for kindness, at any rate.”

It could have been for a plethora of reasons. For advice, boredom, a date, directions. While Yang was very headstrong and straightforward with her thinking and actions, she could sometimes surprise people with her intentions.

“ For all I know, I’m doing you an unkindness. Yeah, I’d feel pretty bad if a bunch of people were talking and having fun while not including me, but some people find being left alone fun. Just because it’s not my style doesn’t mean I don’t respect it. ”

Yang stepped a little closer to Leta. Not in order to intimidate or anything, no. Yang wasn’t a bad person. She was just getting excited over what was possibly nothing.

“ And don’t get me wrong, I really hope I’m not bothering you. I’m sorry if you wanted to be left alone. It’s just... that look in your eye. I’ve seen it from one... maybe two people. As outgoing as Yang was, even she found it difficult to find a way to start a conversation with Leta. The light smokey… white-ish grey eyes would definitely be one of the first things someone might notice. No doubt this woman had heard every comment in the book about them, so Yang did her best not to stare.

Instead, her eyes searched her form elsewhere for something to compliment in order to break the ice.

There was a small pause…

Leta wasn’t exactly what one would call a social person. She didn’t have a lot of patience or care when it came to dealing with other people, so she mostly kept to herself. Even when it came to her own team she was something of the odd woman out. Given that she was forced to be in close proximity to them, it was only natural that some bonds be formed. She wouldn’t call them best friends or anything though.

Needless to say, she wasn’t exactly expecting to talk to a lot of people during the Vytal Festival. Her team was excited about it, but if anything it made Leta nervous. The sooner she was away from Vale the better.

Her thoughts were interrupted by someone approaching her. Actually approaching her. Huh, would wonders never cease?

“Thanks.” She said casually, resisting the urge to snort. Old fashioned? She had no idea. “I like your outfit too. Really puts your cleavage on display.
