Benjamin Poindexter gave Loki a slow once over, eyes flicking from his body to the smug expression. He then smiled, a sharp and mean grin, slightly entertained.

“Oh, Your Majesty,” Dex said dryly, pressing a hand to his chest in mock reverence. “Or should I call you God? Bless you.”

Then his gaze slid toward Nadja.

“I’m pretty sure Voss is fully capable of defending herself,” he said casually. “She doesn’t need to be guarded by some mystical penis with a superiority complex.”

Loki stepped forward. "See, you and I, we are very different." His gaze darkened.

"I do not do it because she is not capable," the edges of his mouth slid up to a dark grin, "I do it because any partner of mine should not have to deal with anything as filthy as you." Loki reached out, pulling a small speck of dust off Dex's shoulder and flicked it away.

"She is capable, more than."

Dex let out a quiet scoff, staring Loki straight in the eyes. They were the same height, which only made the tension between them crackle harder.

“How cute. The god found his goddess. Completely by accident, too.” He pouted. “You don’t even belong in this universe.”

Dex caught his hand while brushing lint off his shoulders and squeezed it tight. “And if you weren’t a fugitive, maybe you could offer your girlfriend a better future than some shithole in New York, where sooner or later Fisk will probably have her hunted down.”
