I’m convinced that the main reason Americans whites were so easily turned against welfare was because it was working. It was doing exactly as LBJ promised and was begging to lift black families out of poverty and into the middle class and white people just could not abide that. Even the poor whites who were also being lifted out of poverty were easy to convince that it was bad because black “undeserving” people were getting it.

It’s his food trill, whenever he’s hungry he makes that noise and tries to emulate conversation. Hell, whenever he’s bored we just chat, he usually just meows. The trill is cute here, but at 6am on a Saturday…

Pistachio passed away yesterday from a sudden blood clot. He was a triller till the end, and honestly just a perfect cat. Hold on to your loved ones, and don't be afraid to take in cats who have been abandoned. Pistachio was left behind and his owners moved, and when we moved in, he pretty much came with the house. He was a wonderful, sweet, amazing cat. Hold your furry loved ones tight.

This phrase has already entered my vocabulary re: media criticism where like. The viewer has a concrete view of what they expect a story to be based on the tropes and cliches they're used to seeing together, and when that doesn't happen, they judge it as a failed depiction of what they assumed it was going to be instead of judging it as what it actually is.

"This show is problematic because the hero didn't kill the villain at the end": When does he steal the bread?

"These two characters who were close friends throughout the series don't kiss at the end! What the fuck?": When does he steal the bread?

"This feels like it's missing a conclusion! Like, the protagonist does bad stuff and because of a critical decision he makes as a result of his major character flaws, meets tragedy in the end! Where's the part where he learns better and brings is love back from the dead and becomes a good guy and gets a happy ending?": When does he steal the fucking bread??
