My father-in-law has received a diagnosis of terminal liver cancer. The doctors have advised us to begin our goodbyes. The only problem is, we live in NJ and he is in a hospital in CA. I want more than anything to raise enough money for my husband Brad to fly out there to say goodbye to his fathe...

Opinions needed.

A local theater company in a small area is doing "Raisin in the Sun.". Director is having difficulty finding an actor for one of the roles, and is considering casting a white actress who has passed for various ethnicities and backgrounds in other plays. In the case of a director being desperate and unable to find a local African American actor to do the part, is this offensive or not? If you were the actor, would you accept the role to help the director out?

Entire flight offers condolences to the grandmother of Orlando victim Luis Omar Ocasio-Capo

Earlier this week, JetBlue announced the company would offer free flights to and from Orlando for the family members of the Pulse shooting. On Tuesday, the company — and its passengers — took it a step further. After fliers signed a card, and held a moment of silence, each passenger showed Luis’ grandmother the goodness in society.

Tumblr tends to be very America-centric so can we just turn our eyes for a minute to the UK

Specifically to this woman. 

Earlier today, Jo Cox, a Labour MP in Northern England, was stabbed and shot at an event in a library. 

It has just been confirmed that she has died due to the attack. 

She was a great campaigner and humanitarian, and has left behind a husband and two children. 

This kind of event happens rarely in the UK, and so this is terrifying and destabilising that such a horrific thing has happened to such a compassionate person. 

Can thoughts on Tumblr turn to the UK today please, and turn to remember a woman who has been brutally murdered after a lifetime of trying to build a better country.

This spectacular cosplay of Agnes, The Junk Lady from Labyrinth, is the latest awesome creation of Jen Yates of Epbot (previously featured here) and her husband John. They recently debuted Agnes at Megacon, taking turns wearing the costume around the convention, and won Best In Show at the MegaCon costume contest. 

Visit Epbot to get a good look at all the details Jen and John painstakingly packed into this costume. The even incorporated the he little blue “Ello!” worm riding on the back of Agnes’ junk pile:
