The other day I wrote about how quite often “It’s Not Good Enough To Be Better” with regard to a product. My example there was Facebook’s Slingshot product being better in almost every way when compared to Snapchat’s Stories product. And yet, Snapchat continues to dominate. Simply being “better” isn’t enough to win that battle – even if you’re Facebook.
Another great example of this surfaced today in the re-telling of the history of Google Maps.
Today happens to be the 10th anniversary of the product. And to commemorate the day, Liz Gannes spoke to a number of people who worked on the product throughout the years (disclosure: including my fiancé).
