while all are welcome at the temple of the god tash, the immediate royal family is expected to pay a bloody homage to the diety as it is his ancestry that gives them the right to rule. a spindle stands in the doorway of each of his places of worship, and those of his blood must return it to him, pricking their finger and letting a drop pool in a golden dish resting below. it’s said that the sacrificial blood left in that font never truly dries, as it is divine. ( skeptics whisper that it’s simply rehydrated with essential oils by tash’s apostates throughout each day. )
GENTLE QUEEN
FLUID LIKE WATER, the marksman queen plucks a red-fletched arrow from her quiver and raises her bow. there’s a line of windfall apples set up upon the outcropping of rocks roughly two hundred paces away, placed there herself. her bodyguards, a great spotted cat and a hawk of inordinately large size, are settled at a respectable distance. the muscles in her arms FLEX as she inhales, string pulled taunt, and exhales. the first apple is knocked clean off the stone with an arrow punched through, the second is split in two, one half knocking into the third apple which sends it rocking wildly. she puts an arrow through it dead centre as it continues to sway. and even then, without turning, she speaks out. “ YOU KNOW it’s rude to stare. ”

because her mother and the tisroc are so often at odds, sahar and her elder brother are often used as pawns by hadi to get back at his elder sister. after rabadash was transformed into an ass, char was given the position of cupbearer, as it was assumed there would be more poisoning attempts against the prince after being made such an embarrassment. sahar, in a similar vein, is often offered the opportunity to be sent to narnia as a handmaiden to spread peace between the nations
imagine living your life happily adopted by your uncle and aunt and looking forward to having what will basically be a little brother !!! and then that little brother is born and instead of getting to hold him you find out you’re going to be asassinated

NARNIA LOCATIONS SERIES → CALORMEN. {INSPIRATION}
Calormen—or more formally, the Calormene Empire—was an empire in the south of the world of Narnia. Most of the country had a semi-arid climate, and its most notable geographic features were a volcano known as the Flaming Mountain of Lagour, and the Great Desert at its northern exterior. On Calormen’s east was the Bight of Calormen, on its west were a conglomeration of unnamed nations, and on its south lay, quite possibly, the Southern Waste. The Great Desert was in the north of the country and was virtually uninhabited; the difficulty of crossing this desert prevented aggressive Calormene governments from invading Archenland and Narnia for many centuries.e Calormene Empire.
