I moved to a farm in New Hampshire on tip of a small mountain. It’s very Robert Frost. I’m always diverging in yellowed woods

There’s an antique I want but I have to save for it. I could ask my ex friend to buy it for me, but he did something horrible to me, so I don’t. I started to put together a wishlist for myself. The item is extendable bookends with grotesques on it :) I haven’t seen one like it anywhere else.

I wrote two pages of poetry from the pov of a demoness. I swear it was me. I’m not possessed and she’s not like that. I don’t do witchcraft or anything. Anyway, I find I write from her perspective often.

Writing is creation. And nine of us are God. So we all have both good and evil within. When writing you aren’t representing your soul or your thoughts but you are the advocate for the story.

I have never killed anyone and yet a lot of characters have. I’m ok with this.

What kind of architecture do you like?

Hmmm. I hadn’t thought about this before. When I lived in LA the one thing I missed was an architectural style. One house right next to another would look so different.

Growing up in London spoilt me. There was this one street with houses on an a slight curve with a private garden in front. Huge white Georgian style. Each house like a silent sentinel They are my fav.

French colonial with tin roofs also would be right up there.

I love stone and brick not a huge fan of wooden buildings.

I keep pulling my hair out, but I’m doing it less lately. How are you doing?

As I’ve mentioned I very re entry got diagnosed with thrust cancer. Treatment starts in earnest next week. This week it’s kicking my arse emotionally and physically. Last night I couldn’t sleep so I played “ hi REN” by REN 36 times in a row. It’s a nine minute video or I fear I’d have played it 60+ times. The World Cup is a needed distraction.

How can I determine what kind of religious building I want to write as a setting?

What an interesting question Dear Anon I will give you one of the two words of advice my dad( a writer) gave me before he passed when I was still just a wee nipper.

Wrote the truth. Not The Truth but a truth. Say you set your scene in a religious building you have never visited or have an affinity for. It will always seem a little sterile. Sure you can describe how it looks. Videos and pictures. But those intrinsic tiny moments will be very hard to conjure. Places have a smelly a unique heart beat. And if you dint fundamentally understand the religion you’ll never understand the building.

So my solution is if you must used a religious building you’ve never been to and don’t connect deeply with that religion then let your characters be as naive of the space.

You can still write a truth that way.

I’ll be honest here. They have been and will continue to be awfully tough.

I have throat cancer. Edgar is the name of my tumor. Next week I start chemo and radiation

So physically exhausted. Emotionally terrified and then full of ennui.
