2nd Edition Necromonicon for Sale

We have a Second Edition, leather bound copy of the Necronomicon. Preface by Simon and is in almost pristine condition. For those that do not know it is a fictional grimoire based on the many short stories by H. P. Lovecraft. This is a rare book and we are honored that the seller offered it to us. Lammas

Lammas…the first harvest.  What does it mean to us?  Our ancestors celebrated this day for the abundance that they were given by the Gods.   Grain was threshed, and the new straw and grain would be for sale.  It was a time to count your herds, and decide which to sell, which to keep.  It was the beginning of our modern day county fairs.  This was also the time that traditionally land contracts, work contracts and payments were made to the owners or lords.  So bake bread, share it with those you love, apples, hazelnuts, grains; include them in your harvest celebration.  Think ahead of what needs to be done before winter. 

If you are celebrating Lugh, this is the time to plan your future.  As the possessor of many skills, Lugh represents change, growth, knowledge.  Ask him for his blessing and to share is gifts with you, as you will with him.  Offer him your time, loyalty, part of your harvest, a piece of something you have created.  Exchange part of yourself for his blessings. 

You can always incorporate both aspects of this holiday, celebrate the harvest on the first day of this holiday.  Honor Lugh at the end.  May Lugh bless each of you, and grant you knowledge and success.  May the Goddess grant you abundance and harmony.  Happy Lammas my fellow pagans, embrace the wheel and live your life accordingly.

Clover

Consecration, Magical, Visionary

Magical Uses: Clover is associated with the Triple Goddess and used in rituals for beauty, youth, fertility, healing, and calming mental illness. If you’re lucky enough to find a four-leaf clover you luck will be plentiful, and prosperity will abound. Four-leaf clovers are also associated with the realm of the fae and are said to be a key to seeing their presence.

As with many cultures, items are given as a sign of fidelity and monogamy. White Clover is also used for this purpose.  When exchanging vows or promises within a relationship clover can be given as a symbol of that vow, worn and used as offering on the altar.  

Clover is associated with copper, so any ritual tools that require consecration; this should be one of your first choices.  

Medicinal purposes of Clover are various, however it is also known to thin the blood with prolonged use.  So those taking blood thinners, or clotting agents should check with a health care provider prior to using natural remedies containing clover. Used as a tea it will boost metabolism, alleviate coughs, and can help with fertility.  Clover will also help to alleviate some menopausal symptoms.  

As an external agent it can be used as a poultice to for skin irritations, scratches and abrasions.  It is safe to use with children, however as with any herbal remedy if you are pregnant or think you are pregnant, this is not an herb you should use.

While sitting in our shop, we had a customer stop in and ask if we were witches. Being honest I said yes, we have been referred to as that. He asked me what degree…I was sort of dumbfounded for a moment as I have never had anyone ask me that before. I answered him that the...

In answer to your addition, I understand Wicca, Alexandrian and Gardernarian all practice and teach on a degree type level.  It was not that I did not understand what he was asking.  Only that in my thirty plus years as a pagan, I have never had anyone ask.  He visited the Salem area (which I am very familiar with having lived in that area for 17 years),and spoke to someone there that was explaining their tradition.  He incorrectly assumed that all pagans follow the same path.  I simply informed we do not :D

Degree...

While sitting in our shop, we had a customer stop in and ask if we were witches.  Being honest I said yes, we have been referred to as that.  He asked me what degree...I was sort of dumbfounded for a moment as I have never had anyone ask me that before.  I answered him that the path I follow does not include degrees...it is a path of my own heritage and heart felt faith. 

Is there a learning process? Certainly there is as with any faith. However my path is family created and followed, it evolves with each generation.  So I guess my answer the next time I should be asked will be: Faith lies in the heart and soul, not in a book.  Not to be tested by other men and women, but tested by the Gods and Goddesses that you choose to follow.

Hecate

Dandelion is used for loss of appetite, upset stomach, intestinal gas, gallstones, joint pain, muscle aches, eczema, and bruises. Dandelion is also used to increase urine production and as a laxative to increase bowel movements. It is also used as skin toner, blood tonic, and digestive tonic. Dried root will benefit soft organs such as the liver and kidneys.  

Please remember that any diuretic can interact with pharmacologicals, so always check with your health care provider before using any herbal remedy.

Magical uses of dandelion are based on it's ability to withstand extremes and still survive.  The roots of dandelions run deep and if not pulled entirely out, will sprout up in another area.  It basically defies death.  So it has been used to invoke Hecate.  Dried root can be used as an offering to the Goddess Hecate, and worn during ritual.  Dandelion wine or dandelion "coffee" can be used in the ritual cup.  

Hecate rules over sky, sea and and air. She also represents prosperity and blessings to families.  She is the Goddess of the crossroads and can help in deciding which path to take.  So the uses of Dandelion in ritual are truly endless.
