Tarot says have a SPOOKY HALLOWEEN
October || 2020
Hello my friends! October has been a bit all over the place, weather wise. It has been fairly mild considering weβre moving into late Spring, but the Storm Season has well and truly arrived - it has been raining for the past two weeks. Yesterday, it hailed! Also, if you couldnβt tell by my pictures, I fell absolutely in love with the sky. How was your October?
Blessed Beltane to those in the South and Blessed Samhain to those in the North - I hope you had as much fun as I did :)

Cleansing Tarot Decks
If you are a tarot beginner you have probably come across the word "cleansing". Now you may be asking what does cleansing mean? What does it do? How does one cleanse a tarot deck? How often do I need to cleanse my tarot deck etc.
Hopefully this post answers those questions.
What is Cleansing?
In witchy practices cleansing is the act of purifying an object of negative auras. You ever get that feeling of gloom, sadness and general negativity when you walk into a room? Yep that's the negative auras trapped in there. How do you dispel it? Open a window, light some incense and so on.
In tarot decks once a reading is completed there is a remainder of the previous reading in it. If you do not cleanse your tarot deck for long periods of time then it might hamper your future readings.
Ways of Cleansing
There are many ways of cleansing a tarot deck, or anything in general. One thing you should take into account is that just because one way works for others does not mean that it shall work for you. Every person is different, every person has a different relationship with their tarot cards. Don't force yourself to do it the "popular" way.
When I started cleansing my deck I used to put it out on the window sill at night hoping the moonlight will charge it. Didn't work out. It was a terrifying week of readings. So I stopped doing that. Finally after a lot of experiment I placed my tarot cards the drawer where I kept my incense. The fragrace cleansed my deck and so far I have not found any error. So that's my way.
Here are some ways to cleanse you deck :
1. Place it under direct sunlight/moonlight
2. Use crystals to cleanse it
3. Visualize energy entering the deck and expelling all the residual auras.
4. Keep it in your altar (in front of a deity statue or symbol of a pentagram would be preferable)
5. Use sigils. Burn the sigils afterwards.
6. Sprinkle some salt on it.
7. Place it in a drawer with your incense (my way)
8. Wrap it in a cloth with sigils painted on it
9. Place it under your pillow along with a bay leaf (for enhancing intuition)
10. Keep it with something personal which has good memories (a locket, book etc)
How often should I cleanse my Deck?
I would say weekly, if not daily.
