. Some journal entries from 2014/15. ✨ I used to bind a small book at the beginning of each month, to record on the go and practice my bookmaking. Smaller books are intimate, private, and hold a world within them. Keep your notebooks, scribbles, and musings. Let them teach you for years to come. ✨

Fresh outta the press! I revisited coptic stitch this week using Jodi Alexander's (@wishiwashistudio) class on @creativebug. It was a nice reintroduction to coptic binding. I haven't been binding a lot of books as of late, but binding this book made me realize how inspired and accomplished I feel when I make something using heart and hands. This book was made using hand marbled paper, hemp thread, hand torn paper, and thin grey board for the covers. The binding is a wonderfully secure version of coptic stitch using 2 needles, with 3 holes in the cover. Play is love is life.
