TEXT ✉ TASHA & LEXIE
TORI: Okay, but you gotta do it with me, Tasha! And, yeah, how scary is pretty scary? Do you ever spend time with them?
LEXIE: Tasha to the rescue! Pretty scary, like, all super...angry fighter people. Not a whole lot, I don't feel all that comfortable around them.
TASHA: Oh boy. It’s only right we both do it, I guess!
TASHA: ... Is anyone comfortable other than guys like them?
HELLO AGAIN | TASHA & JEM
JEM: He was taken a back, and yet completely turned on, by the way Tasha handled him, her fingers entwining with his hair, her arm wrapped around his body, keeping him close. This was a Tasha he'd never seen before, someone she was slowly turning into during the demise of their relationship. Someone another man got to enjoy—but he didn't want to think about that right now. He just wanted to enjoy the moment, enjoy kissing the girl he once loved, still might love, might always love.
He turned it off, every single emotion that he could possibly feel in the moment. The anger, the love, the betrayal, the regret, the remorse, the pain, all of it. He tossed every emotion aside except one—desire.
He deepened the kiss, lips frantic against hers, teeth nibbling on her lower lip just gently enough to tease her. It wasn't something he'd ever done before with her; she always seemed too delicate for it. They had a different type of relationship, and it showed in the way he handled her in the bedroom. She wasn't just another girl that he'd toss aside in the morning like she meant nothing. But that was then, and this was now.
It wasn't until he was desperate for air that he broke his lips from her, only taking the opportunity to bring his mouth to hear ear. "Come with me," Jem commanded, his voice husky. She was free to deny him the pleasure he sought, but he hoped she wouldn't. He had a strong feeling she wouldn't, in fact. His hand found its way to his back and he took hers in his, linking their fingers together, but he didn't go anywhere until she signaled that she would follow.
TASHA: It was unlike any other kiss they've ever shared. Tasha knew his reputation, knew that he was a bit of a Casanova, who knew how to seduce a woman and give her pleasure, and then be gone with the morning light. But it wasn't a side of him she ever truly witnessed, and she knew it was because of what she was like back then. Fragile, weak, innocent, none of which were his type before her, probably, and still they kept him enthralled long enough for love to bud between them. That woman was not the one whose lips he claimed with such force, such passion like she had not felt from him before, but returned with equal excitement. They were not the people of the past, of what their relationship used to be like. Time and experiences molded them into different people, but still they fit. Still the sweep of his tongue and the nibble of his lips were the single best kiss she's ever shared with another.
Mourning the loss of his lips as soon as they parted, breathless and swollen, Tasha slowly opened her eyes, only for them to close back over with his whispered invitation. His hand found hers, and the touch was the only thing exactly as she remembered, the same electricity sizzling between them. She might not have known where they'd go, what hidden place he'd find for them, but Tasha knew what would happen when they got there. Though her heart galloped in her chest at the though of Jem's mouth on her body once again, she wondered how much of it was driven by passion and how much of it was emotion? Whatever the ratio, Tasha knew she couldn't turn it down. Whether he was using her as a warm body in that moment or not, Tasha was okay with it. A little bit of hurt was a small price to pay for another night with Jem. Nodding her head, she gave his hand a squeeze.
"Let's go."

TORI: Does that “whatever else I need” include an online dating profile or something? Maybe Tyler has a hot, non-violent friend?
LEXIE: That's definitely not my area of expertise. As for Tyler...most of his friends are pretty scary.
TASHA: It includes exactly that. We're going digital!
TASHA: Like, scarier than Tyler, Lex?
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Yeah. It was good talking to you, though. Night.
TASHA: Night, Jem.
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Yeah.
TASHA: Alright, well... I'll let you get back to whatever it is you're doing. :)
TEXT ✉ TASHA & LEXIE
TORI: Ever since I saw Caleb at the party, I haven't been able to get him out my mind. But worse than that, I picture him and then instantly picture Jade with him. I hate it.
LEXIE: Oh, nooo :( Nothing worse than the ex run in when you found out he's moved on!
TASHA: I'm sorry, T, that sucks. But we've got you covered with wine, comfort food, movies, and whatever else you need.
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: No offense, but no. Not particularly.
TASHA: None taken, I know it's not something you would have ever given a try if it hadn't been for me.
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Okay.
TASHA: Feel like watching some ballet?
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Yeah. I get it. But I don’t think Caleb thinks of it like that.
TASHA: I know he doesn't, and I know he means no harm. It's just how it is.
HELLO AGAIN | TASHA & JEM
JEM: The flesh on his wrist tingled at the feeling of her skin against his for the first time in years. It was a foreign feeling, but at the very same time, incredibly familiar to him. His eyelids slid shut, becoming backdrops for the memories of their cherished moments together, tangled up in sheets, holding hands in movie theaters, kissing beneath the stars. All of the little moments where they were close, and in love, and most of all, happy.
Tasha was the one thing he was afraid of most in life. He refused to settle down for a reason, and she came rolling into his narrative and convinced him to do it. He didn't regret it, never would, but her betrayal would always sit with him, a reminder of why he wasn't interested in relationships in the first place.
And even then, he couldn't refuse the pent-up desire inside of him that bubbled at the sound of her voice. /I've missed you./ He missed her too. It got easier as time went on, and slowly, he stopped missing her as much, but that didn't mean he stopped entirely. He missed the sight of her curled up in his arms, or the way she'd dance from the bedroom, through the living room, and into the kitchen to make coffee in the morning. He missed the way she believed in him, and lifted him up in moments when he needed it most. But most of all, he missed kissing her. No other kisses have compared since.
Which was why he did the stupidest thing he could in that very moment.
"Tasha," Jem said, getting her attention before his hand broke free from her grasp. His palm landed on the side of her face carefully, and he pulled her closer, lips crashing into hers with a hunger he hadn't felt in ages.
TASHA: What was she thinking?! They were barely able to have a conversation without it turning sour on them. Couldn't she have taken that victory and lived to see another day when it would happen again? She never meant to rush him, to force the fire that still burned within her to catch him aflame, too, and yet it seemed like it was exactly her intention when her fingers closed around his wrist. Those peculiar eyes disappeared behind the veil of his lids as he, she could only imagine, counted the seconds before pulling away without it coming off as too rude. Tasha counted the seconds along with him, every moment that passed underlain with a beat of the song currently playing. It all felt like a game of 'he loves me, he loves me not,' she realized, her thoughts nearing hysteria. A second─ one, he loves me; two, he loves me not; three, he loves me, four─
Her name fell from his lips, rising from the deepest well of longing she found herself in, too, and wide-eyed and hopeful, she watched him close the distance between them. He loves me, he loves me? Interrupted, the thought remained unfinished, dangling in the breeze of her thoughts as they all skidded every which way when after years of dreaming about it, his lips finally collided with hers. Soft, full, tasting of alcohol and sugar, they easily found sync with her own again, and Tasha surrendered. The warmth of his palm brought back a rush of memories, the flame inside her licking merrily as their lips meshed, her tongue sweeping at the seam of his lips. Tasha, the caged bird, the frightened, shy girl who could never make the first move or stand her ground, was now a woman who had gone too long denying her heart what it wanted the most and it reflected in the desperate, hungry actions that followed. One hand reached up to the back of his neck, slipped into the dirty blonde hair, and the other snaked around his waist, hoping to keep him close for a moment more.
Jem hadn't seen much of who she became, and Tasha had learned that sometimes you had to grab what you want and take it, otherwise it would slip between your fingers into oblivion. So she took his kiss, his mouth, his touch, and responded in kind, wondering how greedy she could get before Jem remembered it was her he was kissing.

JEM: Like, how?
TASHA: Seeing the ex you were convinced was the one? And hearing he's with the woman that came between you? It's like a slap in the face.
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Yeah. True.
TASHA: And that night at the party really screwed with her.
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Well, yeah, but it’s not like he cheated. That’s not why they broke up.
TASHA: It's what started causing trouble for them. I know he didn't cheat, but Jade had her eye on him. From what I heard, she still does.
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Why don’t you like her?
TASHA: I don't appreciate how she came between Tori and Caleb. I don't really know her, but I'm loyal to my friends and I don't like how that happened.
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Yeah, thanks. I guess we're better these days.
TASHA: As much as Tori (and maybe even me, a little) aren't big fans of Jade, she's made a difference.
TEXT ✉ JEM
JEM: Just a few lately.
TASHA: I heard your new stuff at the party. It's really good.
