Chocolate Bean
Address: 18 Union Street , East End Adelaide
To begin our blogging journey to find the dedicated places around Adelaide, working to cater for all of the vegans, vegetarians, gluten/sugar/dairy/grain free health-nuts, what better place to start than the Chocolate Bean!
On an impromptu trip to the Chocolate Bean this afternoon, Gemma and I ordered several treats from the menu, including chocolate cake, peanut butter + chocolate cheesecake, chocolate soup, iced chocolate and traditional green tea.
Tucked away on Union Street, just off Rundle Street in Adelaide’s CBD, the Chocolate Bean is the perfect place to catch up with friends for a coffee, tea, or of course, a delicious vegan treat oozing with rich chocolate.
Squeezed into such a teeny space, this place has so much character and  quirkiness. Although it may not have the lightest or healthiest menu options, the Chocolate Bean is a haven for those with food sensitivities who still enjoy a sweet treat every so often.
This cool little cafe has a wide variety of vegan options, and several milk choices, from almond, to soy, plus regular milk too. Most items on the menu contain no eggs or dairy products, but for me, the best part is the wide variety of gluten free options on the menu.Â
A must try is the Death by Chocolate cake. True to the name, a slice of this cake will be memorable for many years to come. This rich dark chocolate vegan and gluten free cake is perfect for chocolate lovers. With the perfect amount of sweetness, and delectable texture, this is a must-have on a first visit to the Chocolate Bean.
The staff at the Chocolate been are polite, friendly and prompt, willing to answer any queries about ingredients in their menu options. After ordering, we waited less than five minutes to be served with our delicious choices.Â
A must-go-to in Adelaide
