he smiled to himself as he kept walking and he opened the door. “extremely eager.” he hummed a grin forming on his face the further out they walked and he still kept a hold on her wrist. 

tatia walked out once the door was held open, the vampire looked up at him and she allowed her fingers to curl around his hand where he held her wrist and the slender fingers slide delicately and slowly across the skin on his hand nd she smirked. “ then get us out of here, hm?”

“thanks.” he smiled at her before he just watched her and then nodded his head  at her words before he smiled at her. “i am happy, well as happy as one can be.” 

“ of course, valentin.” she told him easily, she smiled in return and she moved to grab the ingredients for a side dish and her hues move back up to look at him. “ good, that’s very nice to hear. it makes me happy to know that you are.” she told him honestly.

“do a little more than that.” he breathed and he briefly closed his eyes over as she brushed her thumb over his lower lip and he looked back down at her, fingers gently curling around her wrist as he stalked away from the bar and walked towards the door. 

tatia nodded when he spoke, a smirk pulled upon her lips and she looked down when he grabbed her wrist, the brunette happily followed and her proximity stay close to his as they exited. “ eager beaver are we? i like it.” she hummed.

he nodded. “i hope so. i like the coffee shop.” he hummed and he spun on the stool before looking back at her as she continued with the ingredients and he moved his hand in a ‘eh’ like motion. “sort of. not too many people i see though.” 

“ good honey, i’m glad you like it there.” tatia mused, a smile on her lips and she nodded when he spoke, she could understand that, aside from esther and kai she hadn’t met too many other people in town that she cared to speak to. “ well, as long as you’re happy.. that’s all that matters.”

having found the witches who sent the hunter after her, tatia was wasting no time. they wanted to enchant the vervain strain that was used against her? they would damn well learn what a huge mistake they had just made. she picked up a nearby metal bar, spinning she swung the item and hit the witch in the face and in an instant it stopped the spell that was holding her back. the other wasn’t dead yet, but they were about to be.

kai blinked when she pulled back, he didn’t know what had come over him but he wasn’t exactly complaining about it and he raised a brow at the smirk on her lips and then he laughed. “yeah, clearly.” he hummed in response.

“ or.. we could get out of here. do a little more of that.” she whispered, reaching up, her thumb brushed over his lower lip as a smirk was settled on her own lips. “ but to your place, i’m not sure if my son is home.” tatia breathed, doe eyes looking up and into his.

he nodded, watching her carefully until she asked about his job and he wet his lips. “yeah it’s.. ok. i mean i don’t completely have a handle on it yet. but i’m getting there with it.”

“ i’m sure you’ll get the hang of it, like everything it takes time but i have total confidence in you.” she told her son, a smile on her face as she did and the chicken was then added to the bowl to stir around with the spices. “ have you made any friends in town?” she asked.

“ really? well, we’re just about to change that.” she mused, a smile on her face and she moved to the cabinet, grabbing the necessary spices and began to put them into the bowl. “ so, how is everything going? your job at the coffee shop going ok so far?” she asked curiously.

tatia hadn’t exactly expected him to kiss her, but she was definitely not complaining. the vampire continued to mesh her lips with his, hands sliding down from his neck to the tops of his shoulders. slowly she pulled back, a smirk on her lips as she looked at his face. “ clearly we need to go out for drinks more often.”

kai smirked downat her and he waited a moment before both hands placed on either side of her face, glass of whiskey forgotten about as he pulled her in his lips pressing to hers.  

tatia was looking at him, just studying his features a moment. then when he leaned in she raised her brows a moment but the second his lips hit hers the brunette closed her eyes and she put her hands on the base of his neck while her own lips mirrored the motions of kai’s.

“good.”  and he looked over towards her as she spoke and he smiled slightly before nodding his head. “Yeah i can try and pick one.” he breathed, he scrolled through it before deciding on the curry. “this one?”

tatia got out the bowls, the cutlery, the board to cut up the chicken on and she looked over when her son spoke and a smile formed on her lips. “ perfect. that looks like it’ll be delicious, we’ll even go for the sidedish too.” she hummed.

“chicken.” he smiled slightly, it was one thing he definitely did like and he hummed. he followed behind her with a small smile on his face.

“ chicken it is.” tatia smiled, it felt nice to be cooking for her son. it had been over 1000 years since she had, even something so small brought her so much joy. the vampire took the package of chicken from the fridge and set it down before handing her phone over to valentin. “ you pick the recipe while i get out the mixing bowls and things?” she asked.

“if you were a monster what would that make me?” he asked curiously and he shook his head. so far he hasn’t seen anything and he shrugged his shoulders and her. “you’re not bad to look at it.”

tatia shrugged her shoulders, she placed her empty glass back down on the bar top and at his words a smirk curled upon her red painted lips and she perked up a brow. “ that so? i think i’m a little more than not bad to look at, but i’ll take it.”

“pinterest? i’ve heard people talking about it.” he smiled slightly and he watched her pull out her phone. 

“ oh you have, perfect. do you think you’re more in a chicken, steak, pasta, or roast type of mood?” she asked, figuring they could then decide on a recipe to use for it after the fact. she walked toward the kitchen.

kai looked down at her again and he laughed. “well i’m glad you’d do something about it and not just leave me.. hanging.” he finished off the drink in his hand, turning back to her again before he turned back to her again. 

“ of course, despite my species i’m not a monster...well not all the time.” she hummed, a smirk on her lips and she too finished off the drink in hand and placed it back on the bar top while dark hues move back to him. “ now it’s my turn to ask what you’re looking at.”

“i’m fine with making anything. no preference.” he offered a small smile as he watched her stand and after a second he did the same.

“ alright, how about we look something up on this app called pintrest? they seem to have good ideas.” she mused, shrugging her shoulders when he stood and reached for her phone in her back pocket.

“i didn’t say it was per say, i just accused you of trying.” he laughed still leaning his side against the bar and he cocked a brow offering the vampire a slight smile. “the aftermath, hm?”

“ well i mean, you did mention it... and if you did end up riled up it would be the least i could do.” tatia hummed, a smirk on her lips before she drank from the glass and tossed the cherry into her mouth.
