STAY STAY STAY.
‘ i’m pretty sure we almost broke up last night. ’
‘ i was expecting some dramatic turn away, but you stayed. ’
‘ you should never leave a fight unresolved. ’
‘ i’ve been loving you for quite some time. ’
‘ you think that it’s funny when i’m mad. ’
‘ i think that it’s best if we both stay. ’
‘ i love you because you have given me no choice but to stay. ’
‘ you took the time to memorize me: my fears, my hopes, my dreams. ’
‘ it’s been occurring to me i’d like to hang out with you my whole life. ’
‘ no one else is going to love me when i get mad. ’
THE LAST TIME.
‘ you find yourself at my door, just like all those times before. ’
‘ all roads they lead me here. ’
‘ right before your eyes, i’m breaking. ’
‘ this is the last time i’m asking you this. ’
‘ put my name at the top of your list. ’
‘ you break my heart in the blink of an eye. ’
‘ you wear your best apology, but i was there to watch you leave. ’
HOLY GROUND.
‘ i was reminiscing just the other day. ’
‘ it took me away, back to a first-glance feeling. ’
‘ i guess we fell apart in the usual way. ’
‘ you fit in my poems like a perfect rhyme. ’
‘ the story’s got dust on every page. ’
‘ darling it was good, never looking down. ’
‘ where we stood was holy ground. ’
‘ for the first time i had something to lose. ’
‘ i see your face in every crowd. ’
‘ i don’t want to dance, if i’m not dancing with you. ’
SAD BEAUTIFUL TRAGIC.
‘ words, how little they mean when you’re a little too late. ’
‘ good girls, hopeful they’ll be, and long will they wait. ’
‘ we had a beautiful magic love there. ’
‘ in dreams i meet you in warm conversation. ’
‘ we both wake in lonely beds in different cities. ’
‘ time is taking its sweet time erasing you. ’
‘ you’ve got your demons, and darling they all look like me. ’
‘ what a sad, beautiful tragic love affair. ’
THE LUCKY ONE.
‘ the camera flashes make it look like a dream. ’
‘ you’ve had it figured out since you were in school. ’
‘ everybody loves pretty, everybody loves cool. ’
‘ your name goes up in lights like diamonds in the sky. ’
‘ your lover in the foyer doesn’t even know you. ’
‘ your secrets end up splashed on the news front page. ’
‘ they tell you that you’re lucky, but you’re so confused. ’
‘ you don’t feel pretty, you just feel used. ’
‘ all the young things line up to take your place. ’
‘ you wonder if you’ll make it out alive. ’
‘ they still tell the legend of how you disappeared. ’
‘ it took some time, but i understand it now. ’
‘ i think you’ve got it right. ’
‘ let me tell you now, you’re the lucky one. ’
EVERYTHING HAS CHANGED.
‘ all i knew this morning when i woke is i know something now i didn’t before. ’
‘ i just wanna know you better. ’
‘ your eyes looked like coming home. ’
‘ you’ll be mine and i’ll be yours. ’
‘ everything has changed. ’
‘ all my walls stood tall, painted blue, but i’ll take them down and open up the door for you. ’
‘ all i know in my stomach is butterflies: the beautiful kind, making up for lost time. ’
‘ come back and tell me why. ’
‘ i’m feeling like i’ve missed you all this time. ’
‘ let me know that it’s not all in my mind. ’
STARLIGHT.
‘ oh my, what a marvelous tune. ’
‘ it was the best night, never would forget how we moved. ’
‘ the whole place is dressed to the nines. ’
‘ we were dancing like we’re made of starlight. ’
‘ we were seventeen and crazy, running wild. ’
‘ i can’t remember what song he was playing as he walked in. ’
‘ look at you, worrying so much about things you can’t change. ’
‘ you’ll spend your whole life singing the blues if you keep thinking that way. ’
‘ don’t you see the starlight ? ’
‘ don’t you dream impossible things ? ’
‘ we could get married. ’
‘ we could have ten kids, and teach them how to dream. ’
BEGIN AGAIN.
‘ you throw your head back laughing like a little kid. ’
‘ i think it’s strange that you think i’m funny, cause he / she / they never did. ’
‘ i’ve been spending the last few months thinking all love ever does is break, and burn, and end. ’
‘ on a wednesday in a cafe i watched it begin again. ’
‘ you don’t know why i’m coming off a little shy, but i do. ’
‘ for the first time, what’s past is past. ’
THE MOMENT I KNEW.
‘ you should’ve been there. ’
‘ it would’ve felt like a million little stars had just aligned. ’
‘ i would’ve been so happy. ’
‘ i’ve got my eye on the door just waiting for you to walk in. ’
‘ you said you’d be here. ’
‘ it was like slow motion. ’
‘ i was standing there in my party dress, in red lipstick with no one to impress. ’
‘ there was one thing missing. ’
‘ that was the moment i knew. ’
‘ i try not to fall apart as the sinking feeling starts. ’
‘ what do you say when tears are streaming down your face in front of everyone you know ? ’
‘ what do you do when the one who means the most to you is the one who didn’t show ? ’
COME BACK … BE HERE.
‘ i told myself don’t get attached. ’
‘ this is when the feeling sinks in. ’
‘ i don’t want to miss you like this. ’
‘ come back, be here. ’
‘ i don’t want to need you this way. ’
‘ i guess you’re in london today. ’
‘ if i had known what i know now, i never would have played so nonchalant. ’
‘ this is falling in love in the cruelest way. ’
‘ i am falling for you when you are worlds away. ’
‘ i break down, cause it’s not fair that you’re not around. ’
GIRL AT HOME.
‘ don’t look at me. ’
‘ you’ve got a girl at home and everybody knows that. ’
‘ i feel a responsibility to do what’s upstanding and right. ’
‘ you’ve been getting closer and closer, and crossing so many lines. ’
‘ it’d be a fine proposition, if i was a stupid girl. ’
‘ i am no one’s exception. ’
‘ you’re the kind of man who makes me sad. ’
‘ let’s consider this lesson learned. ’
‘ i might go with it if i hadn’t once been just like her. ’

SUICIDE SQUAD 2016 | dir. David Ayer
she!!
shthds:
it’s hard to figure out her face expression because of the bloody mask; digger has to admit that it’s kinda sick though. and hot. — he’s staring, fixated and curious, momentarily dragged out of his miserable state. katana’s words catch him off guard again. digger has never really tried not to be an open book, so the surprise is clearly visible all over his features.
“— yeah, fuck! you’re right it’s bloody unprofessional!” hearing her say this is both unexpected and hilarious. he has to laugh, a quick and low chuckle from the depths of his chest, and it feels nice to do that genuinely in what feels like ages. “those government cunts are always the worst.” digger is quick to correct himself. “i don’t mean you. you’re more of a — freelancer. i respect that.”
digger eyes the bottle with curiosity — and, yeah, a spark, because it’s not just the tiny fucking cell that made him feverish and shaky. going cold turkey when you drink as much as he does is a special kind of torture. fucking waller and her unprofessional ass. — “shit, no worries, luv. if you brought me lukewarm mouthwash, i’d still cream my pants. what is this?” he takes the cup, surprisingly gently; his hand is still shaky, and it’s not exactly nerves. digger sniffs at the contents, stops himself from just downing it.
“smells nice. — do we– clink-clink? cheers?” the grin on his face is wide and easy. his insides hurt, but when was the last time they didn’t? he sends her a little wink, wiggles the cup. “— to us?”
waller is a cruel woman. katana is a cruel woman, but she justifies her cruelties -- they are criminals, yakuza whose blood stains her blade. they would serve no good in the world, and are deserving of her treatment for the way that they have ruined lives, ruined families. but -- does waller justify her cruelties, her suicide squad the same way? is that how she consigns the captain to this cell without losing sleep, how she’d coldly ordered deadshot to kill harley quinn on that rooftop? tatsu remembers the way one of the criminals’ brains had splattered the walls at waller’s motion, and wonders if she’ll ever be that cruel, or if she’s passed the point of no-return already.
“it’s -- sake.” the laugh from harkness is encouraging -- if he’d spat at her and told her to leave, she would have gone. ( and she would have deserved it -- how long has it been before she’d even thought of visiting the people who made up her team? ) “it’s traditional in japan.”
she lifts her own cup -- the grin on his face draws a small smile from her, visible on painted lips. “kanpai,” she says, tipping the cup towards him in acknowledgement, and then in english, “cheers.”
to us is not something she wants to consider -- so she doesn’t. tatsu raises the cup to her lips instead, posture ramrod-straight, and sips.

shthds:
the past few days — or weeks? who bloody knows — have been a blur, he’s not gonna fucking lie. there is not much in this shithole to trash around, but he does a decent job with what he has. hence, you know, his shirtless and bloody-knuckled state. and now, back to the wall, ass on the floor, digger can tell somebody is walking up to his cell, but he’s too busy sulking to check them out. “piss off,” he says as a greeting, voice rough from all the screaming.
eyes snap open at the other voice — he looks like deer in fucking headlights, turning to face her so quick it almost gives him whiplash. “fuck me dead,” digger mumbles under his breath. usually he would either have a line prepared or just make one up on the spot, easy-peasy, but her presence catches him off guard like a punch to the nose. she’s there, cross-legged on the disgusting floor, and digger feels his throat go dry. it’s ‘cause he’s aching for that drink. probably.
“i’m sorry, darlin’. if i knew you’d come by, i’d, uh, pretty myself up.” digger steals a glance at the shirt, ripped clean in half, discarded on the floor. shirtless it is. he scoots over to the bars, close enough to rest his cheek against the metal. it’s easy to grin, harder to stop looking at her like she’s the best thing he’s seen in forever. so he doesn’t. “hi.”
he apologizes to her. that, combined with his disheveled ( to say the least ) appearance causes tatsu’s eyes to widen minutely behind the protection of her mask. “...hi,” she repeats. he stares at her like she’s something holy, and it makes her skin itch.
“are you...” she doesn’t know how to finish the sentence. clearly he’s not alright -- his knuckles are bloodied, and the tang of it is in the air, waller’s kept him in a tiny, isolated cell in the hellhole that is belle reve. it takes a lot to make katana flinch, to elicit any sympathy from the brutal killer that she has been shaped into. and yet.
her lips thin into a line. “miss waller should not be doing this to you. it’s unprofessional.”
her hands move quickly -- she doesn’t need to look down as she prepares the sake, fills the two cups about halfway. she’s done this many times before, although never in a military black site. “it’s meant to be served chilled. they would not let me bring in a thermos.” even as she passes the cup through the bars, she thinks of the careless mistake that she is making. he could smash the cup and use the broken porcelain to kill someone, after all. but there is no undoing what’s been done. what she’s done.
