“If you refuse to leave something wrong for the fear of ‘losing out’ on your happiness, you have doubted in His Power to replace it with something that is much better and comforting for you in this world and the next.”

“The greeting of peace (as-salamu ‘alaykum) has many meanings. One of these meanings is that the person you are greeting will be safe from you (from your tongue, your heart, and your hand) and that you will not transgress against that person with your words or your deeds. This greeting is also a prayer (for the person you are greeting) for peace, safety, mercy, and blessings. We should take these noble meanings, which we so often say with our tongues, and make them our way of life in our dealings with other people.”
— Salman al-Ouda
“Imagine that you’re shopping with someone you love. No, not just someone you love. Someone you’re madly in love with. Now suppose that this person picks out a gift for you in a particular color and style. How would you feel about that gift? Chances are you’ll cherish it simply because of who gave it to you, simply because of who picked it out for you. There are things, events, people in your life that Allah has picked out for you. Are you pleased with His choice? Do we not love the gift simply because of who picked it out? You will know you really love someone, when you love anything that comes from them—no matter what it is. And you will love their gift, not for any quality in the gift itself—but only for who it came from.”

This piece doesn’t properly express all the grief and anger I feel about the New Zealand mosque attacks, but sometimes drawing a more hopeful future can help us get through dark times. I will always stand against Islamophobia, bigotry, and hatred, and I hope that we can all stand together. [As always, please unfollow instead of leaving nasty comments. Thank you.]

Ibn Baaz’s advice
Of the things that I advise you and myself to do is attachment and eagerness toward reading the Majestic Quran–to perform this a great deal at night and during the day, with reflection, thinking and comprehension of its magnificent and heart-purifying lessons that prevent one from following desires and following the Satan. The Quran is the unbreakable rope of Allah and His straight path to which whoever holds on will reach Allah and will reach the home of grace (Paradise), and whoever turns his back on it will live a life of strife in this world and the next. ~Ibn Baaz

“اعملوا واكدحوا إلى الله بطلب العلم وليس بتربية اللحى وتقصير الجلاليب ولبس القباقيب والتمسك بالمظهريات والثانويات..فإن أول أية نزلت في كتابكم..هي: أقرأWork and strive toward God by seeking knowledge, not by growing beards, shortening garments, wearing sandals and obsessing over appearances and secondary things, for the first verse that was revealed of your Book was: “Read!””
— Dr. Mustafa Mahmud
“If the shaytaan looks at you and sees that you are consistent in an act of obedience to Allaah, he will try to come to you again and again. If he sees that you are persistent in your actions (despite his efforts) he will tire of you and leave you. But if he sees that you are one day like this and one day like that, he will have high hopes in you.”
— al-Hasan al-Basri
“The same test repeats itself over and over in different forms…until you pass it, until you learn the lesson it was sent to teach.”
— Yasmin Mogahed
“When I say ‘as-salaamu alaykum’ and when you say ‘walaykum as-salaam’ to me, then we’ve actually made an open declaration that there is no grudge, animosity, hatred, or anxiety between us, and that we only wish peace from Allah upon each other.”
— Nouman Ali Khan
“When Allah blesses us with someone that we love, we forget that Allah is the source of that blessing, and we begin to love that person as we should love Allah. That person becomes the center of our world—all our concerns, thoughts, plans, fears, and hopes revolve only around them. If they are not our spouses, we are sometimes even willing to fall into haram just to be with them. And if they were to leave us, our whole world would crumble. So now, we have shifted our worship from the Source of the blessing to the blessing itself.”

-Memulai Kembali-
Huft). Sekarang udah punya anak, sebagian besar waktu di dalam sehari diabisin bareng dan buat anak, yang namanya me time hampir gak ada. Kalo pun anak lagi tidur, emaknya juga ikutan tidur karna ngantuk, tiap malem masih harus bangun buat nyusuin. Selain tidur, paling ngelakuin pekerjaan rumah tangga.
Berbulan-bulan kaya gitu, jenuh deh jadinya. Ditambah tiap hari di rumah terus. Gimana gak stres coba eike? Kangen bikin gambar lagi, udah lama banget gak gambar.

RE: ISIS WIVES
I’d just like to emphasize something Hoda Muthana said in an interview I saw today. She said: “We were just kids who didn’t know anything about our religion, interpreting things completely wrong.”
A lot of news media are framing her story as she “became more religious” and that’s what motivated her to join ISIS. That is not true. Becoming radicalized by jihadi rhetoric is far removed from becoming a more religious Muslim. Islam does not preach or even tolerate murder. It says in the Quran: “to kill one person is as grave as killing all of humanity.” Muslims in countries like Syria don’t even call them ISIS, they call them DAESH, because they know ISIS isn’t Islamic at all.
ISIS and terrorist groups like them prey on vulnerable, usually young, people and gradually radicalize them into joining. They manipulate Muslims who feel alienated or marginalized and use instances of Islamophobia to condition these kids to see places like the US as the enemy. Don’t believe me? This is all spelled out in a recruitment handbook you can literally find online that al-Qaeda began.
Bottom line is: what Hoda did was terrible and un-Islamic for sure, but to say she wasn’t also a victim in this mess would be wrong.
Sidenote: also it is really frustrating that only a day ago, a white, domestic terrorist from the US coast guard was caught trying to eliminate Muslims and their allies in the USA… and this got no media buzz whatsoever. Everyone was just talking about Jussie Smollett. Then there’s news a story about two repentant Muslims who were ensnared in radical terrorism and the world is all over it. Smh

Each linear element in this room is outlined with blue and white stripes cut with precision from a single roll of wall covering. By carrying the stripes up to the ceiling and around the top of the wall, the effect created is definitely Art Deco. Matching navy paint updates and melds otherwise undistinguished woodwork into the new design. The gold on the walls echoes the age when Deco was the decoration rage.
