This is not the blog you should be following from your nsfw blog. (you can check my strawpage for my list of DNI’s)
I block freely, please don’t take it personally!
I talk a KINDA! And tag a bunch of my interests on here. You can blacklist #chit chat on my blog if you wish to not see them.
I also reblog suggestive posts on here, you can blacklist #/suggestive on my blog if you wish to not see them.
I selfship with Mantos from Vermin, art will be tagged as #mantae respectfully! (As a placeholder)
#Human Toa Au is a placeholder for my unnamed Tales of Arcadia AU, your beloved trolls -> humans. This also includes gnomes, and other inhuman characters from the show. Introduction is still in progress but feel free to ask questions about the characters, story, etc. Fanart for this AU will be tagged under #Human toa au fanart
My tags for #Blinky x Aaarrrgghh art can vary in many names. But the most used ones I’d likely use are: #mossybooks , #friendlyscholar #pacifistscholar , #trolldads or #trollhusbands , #peace of mind
we need to invent a way to explain how deep running and pervasive and subliminal racism and antiblackness is without immediately sounding like an insane conspiracy theorist
female characters are always lighter than male characters. strong characters are almost always dark. aggressive characters are almost always dark. peaceful and intelligent characters are almost always light. even amongst darker characters the lightest one is usually either the leader or the girls. dark is evil and light is good.
briefly pursuing a career in animation radicalized me on this. So many stories from the industry about how you have to start with your character design as dark as possible, because INEVITABLY you'll get "notes" from higher-ups asking you to make them lighter.
In a class about making a pitch bible my teacher once role-played as a shitty executive with a classmate, pressing them in intentionally abrasive ways about why they made their characters diverse. He emphasized that we had to learn to defend these things, because the racism in the industry is extremely deliberate.
Uhh idk what to talk about her..so ig I'll share some small information about her!
She grew up wanting to be a nurse! Beatrice studied about how the body works, took classes that you need to learn to become a nurse, and got her college degree. It's nothing big, she just had a normal childhood...She's Rick's ex btw.
Rick and Beatrice were dating for about 8 years, until they wanted to break up due to constant arguing and relationship issues. Anytime they glance at each other after every mission, it would be awkward.
Butttt..yeah, that's kind of about it :)
Sidenote: I wanted to draw her in the show's artstyle and uhh- yeah👍
I’ve written P (my sona) to be sort of a dramatic reflection of my subconscious and in a way that makes it her own character, for her to be somewhat involved with the potential of Vermin’s world and well, my favorite part, for fooling around with my favs LOL.
P is an aspiring creative but is convinced that she cannot imagine such lifestyle to benefit her on the long run, whether that’d be financially or emotionally, akin to her more successful relatives. (She’s lived most of her life isolated from the outside world, and surrounded herself with posters and pop-culture references. Influencing the way on why she idealizes the hybrid-urban American dream, but never realized to differentiate fiction from reality.) After a long drought of doubt and uncertainty, among still discovering herself, never in her youth would she gotten the brief idea of becoming a social worker, or having to result in being the healthcare field, someway or another, legally.
She’s usually very friendly and optimistic, but overtime became sour and disillusioned believing if anything she had done was doing any significant improvement or if it allowed her any room for her to express her autonomy, meant to sacrifice her liberty and long-term dream. P continues to struggle on keeping her past values consistent with her current values in an environment that forces her to face change constantly, challenging her judgment in how her view of the industry turns from idealistic and honorable to a bitter reality.
She’s had her first experience with working as an intern at a grade-school as a counselor. Then shortly quit, to work as an intern at Bug Resources of the same department with the police force, as Reggie and Chemou were to meet with her on some occasions. Often times, Chemou would neglect her questionnaires and complain as if it’s all a waste of time. Reggie, however, is usually never the best with speaking up about the issue, often times brushing it under the rug and acting as if everything is just fine. And with how long they were able to get away with it, was astounding.
Here’s P in one of her casual formal attires.
She tries not to be so flashy with her choice of colors, or look intimidating to her clients. With minimal eyeshadow, polkas, and her uncurled antennas, she presents herself to be at her most modest.
(Shown to be wearing two extinguishing outfits from above, to show her range of comfortability and change of self expression towards Mantos.)
Off to a tough start, P’s first interaction with Mantos wasn’t as pleasant. She speculated that both he and Chemou were in some sketchy scheme or working under the other for one’s personal gain, aside from her general distaste of cops and their bad actors. Unbeknownst to her, her indifferences for the two would stall once she was assigned to work with them. Forcing her into an awkward situation and with the responsibility not to leave the objective to anyone else, since most of her colleagues were unavailable at the time, coincidentally.
From Interviews, small appointments that were cancelled with whatever excuses the two could pull from their sleeves, and personal involvement with the law, it was only a manner of time she had thought of resigning. But it did seem to unpack some uncomfortable details and feelings the two were resonating with, and fortunately, mere improvements were made. Yet, the rest remained vastly unexplained. After her resignation, she slowly began to find herself again, enjoying the tiny things that used to define what she loved about most, under the pseudo belief she could finally be freed from the stress of the corporate life.
By post-s1, she would hear of the two again and her curiosity around the drama of their lives grew since the incident. Now, she assists at a foster home to care and provide support for the rescued mantis children. Her perception of Chemou and Reggie has changed by then, with her growing respect towards Chemou, for her heroic efforts (though she finds it amusing and does not believe some parts of Chemou’s over-exaggerated claims in how she saved him), and still pitying Reggie. But perhaps, she’ll give him an ounce of credit and acknowledgement.

i love him in his former father’s suit, i wish they had kept him with it for longer but unfortunately it got lost in the chase… im in mourning forever just to see him happy again
I thought I’d make Reggie half south-eastern asian on his mother’s side, and irish on his father’s. just for a little fun. waaait noo I missed the opportunity to give him freckles here ☹️
chemou oh chemou the person you were stripped from becoming. im not over it still. and its treated as a bit. 👀 though icl that entire scene was hilariously devastating . so many scenes of the series where chemou does some dumb shit and poor reggie has to cover up or uphold HER responsibilities 😭 and the way around, its so amusing. i love these guys
