on the note of capricorn and aquarius representing the two different approaches of saturn, ive found this really noticeable when actually viewing how capricorn and aquarius (especially moon & venus) treat romantic partners. 

both are very saturn-like in that picking a significant other is an intense, serious decision. it takes a lot for them to want to settle and commit to somebody long-term: but when they’ve found their person, it’s ride or die. 

when it comes to expressing romance, capricorn is very “follow saturn structure”. by this i mean, capricorn wants to stay in, provide security, usually follow a traditional approach to dates and romance. capricorn says “i want to take you home and show you the safe space i worked hard to create”. aquarius, on the other hand, wants to once again push the boundaries and test saturn’s limits. aquarius wants to take their significant other to new places, to push them to try new things and discover new experiences within life. aquarius says “i want to take you out and show you the entire world”.

THE TWELVE HOUSES IN OUR LIVES

one of the interesting things about the houses in astrology is they represent both areas in our life + how we act in those areas (the sign on the house cusp), but also what/who we attract in those areas. i wanted to explore these further, by comparing some things i’ve noticed we both act like and attract, depending on which house we are activating/using. we often act and attract the same thing.

SIGN ON I HOUSE CUSP: 

the sign we attract when young or when we are in a room of people we hardly know. this is the sign we usually act like first in our lives (and or the sign of our moon sign). it is very natural and instinctual for us to express the characteristics of this sign. you may act like this while young more so than ever and/or act like this more than ever when in a group of people you are not highly comfortable with.

SIGN ON II HOUSE CUSP:

the sign we attract when we are doing well in all aspects: financially, materially, physically, emotionally, mentally. it is also how we act when we are trying to succeed in these areas and are in situations in which we feel especially successful/secure.

SIGN ON III HOUSE CUSP:

the sign we attract in school (college not included) and how we act in school. we activate this part of ourselves when we are in a learning environment. when we are in this mode, we embody this sign and find ourselves more attracted to it.  many of our elementary school friends or favorite teachers could have been this sign.

SIGN ON IV HOUSE CUSP:

the sign we attract when young as well and the sign we are drawn to in general. much like the first house, the fourth house is a key part of our instinctual identity. especially if we had a healthy or mostly healthy childhood, we are likely to want to find people to be our out of family family. it is also how we act when we are young, especially around family and instinctually. when we go through periods in which we feel the need to withdraw into ourselves and feel comfort, we will act a lot like this sign. our favorite family member or someone we meet and instantly feel comfortable with could have this sign.

the sign we attract as teenagers and when we are casually dating. it is also how we act as teenagers to an extent and how we act when casually dating. when teenagers, this area of our life typically is more activated than ever, because we are beginning to casually date more frequently, explore what we take the most pleasure in doing, and allow our creativity to shine more. we are romantic in every sense of the word, typically, when we are adolescents/young adults. the crushes we have in high school are often this sign and the types of dates we want to experience are often linked to this sign as well. we often embody many of this signs traits as we attempt to shine.

the sign we attract during our career years; how we act while working. we embody these traits when we are trying to complete tasks and perform our routine to the best of our ability, thus our everyday work life feeds into this quite a bit. we may very well befriend people in our shared work environment of this sign or enjoy the boss with this sign much more than others. this sign is what motivates us to work the best we can, so our work styles are very tied to it.

SIGN ON VII HOUSE CUSP:

this is the sign we are not super aware we attract into our lives, but we always do. it’s often the sign of our enemies, romantic partners, business partners, and close friends (love and hate are closely related). this sign colors our one-on-one relationships. it is often how we unconsciously act when we are ready to commit to and are in long term partnerships (romantic, business, or otherwise). SIGN ON XI HOUSE CUSP:

the sign we attract when thinking about long term friendships and social issues we care about; how we act in long term friendships and when expressing our social/political ideas. the people who end up sticking around and being big parts of our lives are often this sign. we also seem to act like this sign when with friends, especially ones we are highly comfortable with. also, generally, when looking at our political, social, etc. ideas we can look at this sign. 

SIGN ON XII CUSP:

the sign we attract when intoxicated or our consciousness is in someway altered, also the characteristics we dream about. how we act when intoxicated, consciously altered, or are dreaming. like the seventh house, we have a hard time recognizing this sign within ourselves and don’t know why or how we attract it. when we make a friend while drunk, though, it may be this sign. or when we are dreaming, we often dream about the themes of this sign. we are afraid or embarrassed by it often, but this sign is a big subconscious part of us.

Cold or Warm, Thorny or Soft

So my sister and I have some made up personality types we measure people through. You can be either warm or cold, and thorny or soft, so for example, someone can be cold and thorny, cold and soft, warm and thorny or warm and soft ; those are the 4 types we classify people in.

Now that that’s explained, I decided it would be fun to put each sign in one category.

For this post you should check your Sun, Moon and rising sign. Your Sun would be closer to how you truly are and percieve yourself to be, your Moon would point towards how you are when people know you better and how you behave towards those you care about, while your rising is more about how people percieve you and how you consciously make yourself appear as.

Really you could check any planet and it would talk about how you express those energies.

So first things first, I’ll explain each variable:

Cold: these people don’t get attached easily, they can be quite distant and reserved, not liking to be too close to people, especially those they don’t know well. They avoid showing their emotions to others and have a hard time expressing them, so they can be percieved as indifferent or inexpressive, they may be feeling enormously but from the outside seem emotionless to those who don’t know them well. Not necessarily rude, but distantly polite. Not very big on affection.

Warm: very expressive, even bubbly, they probably want people to feel comfortable and at home given their caring nature. Can get attached easily and have an outwardly loving nature. Their emotions can be seen all over their demeanor and they may share how they feel quite often. If they are shy, they may not be as overbearing as they appear in this description, but still have no qualms about expressing themselves when prompted by others. Very giving and affectionate nature.

Thorny: hard to get to know, they dislike interacting with people and can even be a bit hostile when you first meet them (and let’s be honest, afterwards as well). They show they care in a perhaps unconventional way, since they are not very good at sharing how they feel, so maybe they are more about actions than words. Trust issues wouldn’t strange with this type, so you have to earn it. They may feel easily stiffled when given affection, so handle with care and measure. Will physically fight anyone for their loved ones or protecting the underdog. Annoyed most of the time.

Soft: the sweet cinnamon roll archetype, they can trust others a bit too much, they open their hearts to those they care about and can even be a bot clingy at times. Will probably never hurt you on purpose and can often let people walk over them a bit because of their humble and understanding nature. While they do love affection, they may not actively seek it, since these people are prone to be pretty shy and quiet. Can worry a lot. Probably very moved by art and really creative souls.

Now, the signs:

Warm and Thorny: Aries, Gemini, Leo 

Very caring but can appear a bit hostile at first and be that way without realizing it at times. Easily become defensive when they feel threatened or hurt, doing and saying things they probably could’ve said much more gently or done differently. Will fight for what they believe is right and can be a bit aggressive and blunt at times. Care about everyone but not enough about anyone. Would help anyone in need but also could betray anyone if they can have something they want.

Cold and Soft: Taurus, Virgo, Libra 

People often feel drawn to these signs, mostly for their charm and class (taurus, libra), or their intelligence and simplicity (virgo). However, if you watch closely, you can see they never become too involved and always keep their distance emotionally speaking. They are people pleasers, and to please everyone you can’t care about anyone too much. They can try to make others feel comfortable, but mostly because they tend to absorb others emotions, so someone being uncomfortable around them can make them feel uncomfortable as well. Nevertheless, when they do care about someone they are affectionate, caring and, well, soft. They don’t care about someone easily, but when they do, their loved ones become their world. 

Cold and Thorny: Scorpio, Capricorn, Aquarius

Struggle getting close to people, for they value their freedom and alone time a lot. They show they care in their own way, which may not always be noticed by their loved ones. Can be a bit rough around the edges and hide their feelings and emotions in fear of being hurt or taken advantage of. Very hard to get to know, but very loyal once they care about you. Can be passive to injustice or insensitive to pain because they often mind their own bussiness a bit too much.

Prone to feeling lonely and misunderstood.

Warm and Soft: Cancer, Sagittarius, Pisces

Very caring, very gentle, very shy (except sagittarius, probably.) Can often live in their emotions, their hearts are too big for their own good. Easily hurt and unfortunately struggle hiding it. Struggle to let go of people, even after they’ve hurt them. Rich inner world and very moved by human emotion. Probably quite idealistic. Giving, generous and affectionate, understanding to an almost annoying degree and the best when it comes to comforting others.

Sagittarius is perhaps the one that lets go and becomes detached more easily.
