I wasn’t going to post this here after I saw it on a friend’s post. But then I starter remembering and thought my living will not be in vain. Aniya’s story needs to go viral because Every adult that came in contact with Aniya is responsible. The teachers, the hospital staff, the courts, other adults her saw her they are all responsible. Just like when I walked around with Black eyes and busted lips as a child all of those adults are as responsible as my abusive family. And the judges who after my case finally was reported to CPS—I was in high school—who kept returning me. Until Judge Valentine who told my mother off and he refused to send me back to her. This system that doesn’t value Black and Brown adults, definitely doesn’t give a care about our children. #sparethekids

A friend picked me up and took me out for a meal and a drink. When I got in the car he said, "You look great." I said, "Oh I made my twists curl." He said, "No you look crisp and fresh. Like you don't have the weight of the world on your shoulders which I know isn't true." I took a break today. I just shut my heart up for a while so I could exhale. Okay who can help me with my lovely logo? It's in a box with a white background and I can't get it out. I don't have photoshop so I researched open source software that is similar and I went with GIMP. I can isolate the lips but then it doesn't crop out the background. Ugh! I'm trying to create shirts and other items for sale to raise funds for Who Speaks for Me? through threadless and so I need to isolate the logo onto a transparent background. HELP!! My neck hurts. 😩😓
