I really don’t see this as an era. This is a moment in time. Folklore is so far removed from everything she’s ever done in the best way. I don’t see there being singles, I don’t see her touring it. It was her writing because she loves to write. It’s her telling stories because she’s a storyteller, and she wanted to do it in a new, imaginative way. She shared these stories with us not for sales or charting or awards, but because, as she said, when you write, you can change your words into your legacy, and that’s really what folklore is. Stories passed down from generation to generation to form a legacy.

“Ed Sheeran is such a good friend of mine. He’s like my fun, awesome, supportive, talented cousin. He’s legitimately one of my favorite people in the world. It’s been so great to watch him become someone that’s going to be a legend forever. I remember when I first heard Ed Sheeran’s song and really fought for him to be my Red Tour opening act, even though he hadn’t been putting out music in the US. I was just so confident with him that if you just heard him you would understand he would breakthrough. And there was nothing more wonderful than watching that happen in the past couple of years. One thing that Ed is so good at, is tuning out of the internet, he doesn’t even have it on his phone, he doesn’t text, he just emails. I think we can all feel very inundated by technological invasions in our life, we feel it having a more negative effect on us than good. Which takes up a lot of time. I’ll get emails from him all the time just as much as you would text. I think that’s a good thing, it shows he has discipline. Here’s Ed Sheeran with Khalid ‘Beautiful People’, love this song.
