Tristan & Lexa; Fourth of July
Dancing with the Devil [Open Para]
“Oh yeah, there’s plenty of stuff that doesn’t go on the blog. I don’t think personal things go too well with my food anyway. Your secret’s safe with me.” Alli smiled to let him know that he could trust her with whatever information he had. She wasn’t going to tell anyone, especially not when he had specifically asked her not to. “A gang?” Her eyes widened slightly, but she mostly just sounded very surprised. It kept building too, when he talked about the things he had done. Maybe people where right when they said he was trouble. She just couldn’t make it fit, he was always so nice to her. “I mean, that’s… unexpected.” Alli looked at him a little bit concerned… or a lot. “How long ago was this? You’re not that old, like at all.”
Tazs heart dropped as he realized he might have said to much. Allie had been sweet to him every time he had spoken to her and it was hard not to open up to her. “Maybe three months?” He admitted weakily. “Yeah, it wasn’t my proudest moment, but I didnt really have a choice. I didn't live in the best neighborhood so it was the only way--” Taz stopped talking abruptly and stood up. The last thing he wanted was for Allie to look at him like everyone else. He may have said too much already.
“Anyway, back on a better note, isnt it your birthday?” He held out his hand to her, “You should be getting spoiled by Mico somewhere. Not listening to me blabber on about my angst-y past.” He shot her an easy smile. Hoping things hadnt changed between them.

“You would have had me flogged?” Lexa asked letting out a laugh. “It is so obvious that I would be the captain of the ship. You have to see me in a pirate costume; one of the best Halloween costumes I have worn.” She splashed him playfully. She was surprised at his boldness when he pulled her closer to him.“Teach me a lesson?” Lexa moved even closer, leaving no space between their bodies. “I’d love seeing you try. But fair warning, I’m not easy to break.” It was a whisper that would have been incoherent if she hadn’t said it into his ear.Â
She slowly moved her hands and rested them on his face. Her face approached his, always slowly, until it came to a stop at a point where their noses touched. Without a warning, she pulled him into a kiss, which she held for a few seconds before pushing him with all her power under the water. “I’m also very unpredictable.” Lexa with a devilish smirk.
Taz pondered her comment for a moment, “How about co-captain? We both equally plunder and get the treasure.” He gave her a wicked smirk, “You could always do a fashion show for me.”Â
He froze as she took charge and pulled his face near hers. He wondered for a moment if he might be getting in over his head with Lexa. He didn't really know her that well yet but he was already letting her get this close to him. Which might not be safe for either of him. His thoughts were erased as Lexa pressed her lips to his. A sigh escaped him as he pressed into her, not realizing how much he had wanted to kiss her. He yelped when she pushed him under and was too distracted to resist. He came up, trying to keep the goofy smile off his face, probably failing and swam back a bit.
“I can see that,” He smirked, his face feeling warm, he looked up and saw that they had began to shoot off fireworks. He swore under his breath and turned to smile at Lexa. “I promised you a front row seat didnt I? Want to swim back so that I can amaze you with my plans for us?”
“Okay, if you’re going to try and compare dragons to House Elves… I can’t even take you seriously right now!”
“You dont know what kind of magic those scary little buggers have in them. They could probably breath fire.”

“Told you so.” Lexa replied making a swirl so he could see the back of it -and her- too. She kept running without stopping, not even when he shouted cheater. She glanced back once or twice and realized that he was far behind her; for now at least. As she ran, she bumped into people who gave her nasty looks, but she didn’t care. right now, the most important thing on earth was beating Taz.
When Lexa finally reached water, it became hard for her to keep the pace she had on land. Her struggle of running into water ending when it was finally deep enough for her to swim. She swam as fast as she could, her body crashing against the waves, her head submerging under water leaving her breathless. It took her much effort, but she reached the buoys first and it was definitely worth it.
Taz ran into the water at full speed, the problem with that being that no one running into the water that is only ankle deep can stay up. He managed to trip and he groaned, mouth full of salt water. He pushed his hair back and kept pushing forward, Lexa’s lovely backside was far ahead of him and there was nothing he could so about it.
“Shark! Whale!” He cried playfully, trying to push his body to go faster. Lexa still reached the buoy before he did. He gasped for air as he tapped the metal in his second place victory, shooting her a playful glare. “You know if we were on a pirate ship I would have you flogged,” He teased, swimming closer to her. He wrapped his arms around her waist, and pulled her closer to him. He gave her a wicked grin, “I should dunk you to teach you a lesson.”

Taz smiled, its not that he didn’t trust her, it was just that he didn’t trust her. He had been around all sorts of girls in his past and the pretty ones never talked to him unless they wanted something. Lexa was fun, like fire was fun, it was mesmerizing and could burn everything down for the hell of it. He didnt doubt for one moment that she might be with someone else tonight if he didnt play his cards right.
“Sounds good to me, dont cry when I beat you with my manliness.” He winked, and placed his hand around her shoulders and gestured to the parking lot. He wouldn’t be surprised if she beat him, he was good at running but not at swimming.“As long as you dont chicken out when its my turn to pick our activities. Though I must say I am sad to see that dress go, it suits you.”
“I don’t cry.” Lexa said turning to face him completely. “I also don’t chicken out. Bring on your worst.” She told him with a wink. “Thanks, but I’m sure you’ll prefer the bikini.” As she spoke she checked his face waiting for his reaction.
They walked to the parking lot and Lexa unlocked her car. After throwing her heels in, she started stripping off her dress, revealing her American flag bikini. “You should take your shirt off, or it might get wet.” She told him throwing the dress in as well. “Go!” She shouted and started running as fast as possible hoping that catching him off guard would give her a headstart.
Taz shrugged as though what she wore made no difference to him. Though he had to say the famed bikini would probably be better. “You dont see the type to cry, maybe make others cry.” he teased, making sure there were no cars as the crossed the street into the parking lot.Â
When they reached her car Taz turned away his gaze as she stripped down. Out of the corner of his eye he saw her rid herself of the dress and he turned around smirking. “Ok, you are right, the bikini is better,” He admitted unashamed. He was reaching over his shoulders to take off his shirt when she shouted. He paused for a moment until he realized what she had down and laughed loudly. He threw his shirt into the car and raced after her. He winced as she ran across the street and paused to let a car pass. After it passed he tried to pick up the pace as he saw her reach the beach. "Cheater!” He shouted, reaching the shore just as she did.
Thomas takes Taz’s hand, standing, “Don’t worry about it. I deserved it for being a real twat. We square?”
“Nah,” Taz grinned, “We have always been rectangles.

“Don’t worry. I’m yours for the night.” Lexa said smirking. “Plenty, if you play your cards right.” She knew she was shamelessly flirting, but she was loving it. Just like she loved how Taz had shivered when she leaned closer to him.
“You know what? I’m bored.” Lexa said kicking off her heels. “I challenge you to race me to the buoys. That will determine who is better both at running and swimming. Do you mind following me to the car? I need to leave me heels and dress somewhere protected.”
Taz smiled, its not that he didn't trust her, it was just that he didn't trust her.
"Sounds good to me, dont cry when I beat you with my manliness.” He winked, and placed his hand around her shoulders and gestured to the parking lot. Though I must say I am sad to see that dress go, it suits you.”
“I don’t feel any better,” Thomas grabs hold of his jaw. “Fuck, did you have to hit so hard?”
Taz offered his hand out to Thomas mumbling, “Sorry, I acted like a jerk.”
“I’m giving you permission to hit me, if it’ll help you get over whatever it is you upset about.”
Taz hesitated and then raised his fist, punching Thomas in the jaw.

“I hope I will. What will we do? Steal candy from babies?” Lexa teased. “Oh, so you’ll throw me into the fire in order to keep yourself safe? What a real gentleman.” She took a sip from her flask and passed it back to him, leaning closer in the process.Â
“Don’t worry about me; I’ll take them off if I need to. I more worried about you, trying to keep up with me.” She whispered into his ear, her lips touching slightly his ear. “I was also promised fireworks. Just reminding you.”Â
Its a surprised, Taz said with a smirk, maybe if you are on your best behavior I will tell you. Just be ready to run. “ He shivered slightly as she stepped closer to him and took the flask again. He raised it to his lips, taking a long sip and put his hand on her lower back, moving her in the direction of the end of the pier.Â
“You will get fireworks. Best seats in the house I promise.” His smirk became more pronounced. “I hope you didnt make any other plans for the night, because you might need to cancel them.” Taz blushed as he realized how it sounded and shook his head quickly, “I didn't mean it like that, just we are going to have fun.” He grimaced.

“Well, I mean obviously they’ll know how handsome you are right away. But you know, they need to know you’re an amazing person.” Truthfully she didn’t know him all that well, but she liked him enough so far. She wouldn’t really have to lie… although she’d probably leave out the part where he took her things. “I have great taste in guys, Tristan. And girls. You don’t have to worry about that.“
“No, I’ve always worked on the side. It’s not exactly steady income, so I used to waitress and things like that so I could actually pay rent and all that.” She looked out at the ocean. “What kind of business were you up to in the shady parts? If you don’t mind me asking. Stealing sunscreen from the English folks too, or is it just the Irish?”
“They dont call me, Mr. Handsome for nothing.” He winked and shrugged at her question. He chuckled, “Its not something I want getting around. But I am sure you know to keep certain things off your blog.” He gave her a slightly serious look, though he was still smiling. “I use to run with this gang a while back. Nothing too serious.” He lied quickly, “But I was like an errand boy. I did a lot of deliveries, money mostly. Sometimes I helped smuggle people out of the states.” He shrugged like it was no big deal and picked at the shells in the sand. ,not wanting to meet her eyes.Â

Lexa heard her phone buzz. She had one new message from Taz. “You look beautiful.” The moment she read it she started scanning the crowd for him. When she couldn’t find she typed, “Thanks. I’d love to return the compliment but to do so, I need to see you.” She pressed sent and put her phone back into her purse.
She took a few sips from the flask before she felt a tap on her shoulder. “You are late.” She passed him the flask. “Sharing is caring.” Lexa let her eyes travel up and down Taz’s body. “You look great. You were right; those shorts are very patriotic indeed.”Â
Taz's smug smile became more pronounced as she handed him the flask. He took a sip and made a face. Vodka wasn't really his style but he didn't want to seem like he couldn't keep up with her. He handed it back to her and pretend to flex as she admired him. “They are great right? Sorry, I was busy trying to come up with awesome date mischief. I think you will be quite pleased with what I have planned.”
He winked at her, and took in her outfit up close, making a face at her shoes. “Do you think you will be able to run in those? I can’t promise that if you get caught I will cover for you.” He teased.Â
“More times than I can count,” he laughed. “If I allow you one go at me, would that stop you from being butt hurt?”
“What does one go entail?” Taz asked cautiously.
“That’s quite hurtful, but also fixable. Ill just take her to my place.” Thomas teased. “How about a third option? Watch the fireworks and continue talking?”
“Anyone ever told you, you might be the most annoying person on the planet?” Taz asked through clenched teeth. “The third option also sounds like the road to go down if you wanted to get a roman candle shoved down your pants.”
“I think you do. And why are you so upset about be hanging around with Brie? Hm? Could a crush?”
“Maybe I dont want to see your ugly mug around my place all the time.” He grumbled. “Now are you going to watch the fireworks with me and shut up or keep talking.”
