Reunion || Allison & Brie
āMy trip was really great.ā Brie said, feeling the slight awkwardness of the hug. Things had always been so east with Alli, she could just talk to her and be around her and none of it was ever awkward of weird. But she knew sheād messed that up by not calling her like she had promised.Ā
āYeah, I knowā¦ā She said, entering the apartment, slightly feeling like she did so with her tail between her legs.Ā āIām sorry, that I didnāt call like I said I would⦠things just got really crazy. It was a lot busier than I expected. Sometimes we didnāt finish until like two or three in the morning, then Iād sleep on the bus till like 12 the next day⦠not that thatās an excuse. Your trip looked fun too, whereād you go?āĀ
āItās okay, I get it... you really should have called though, I was kind of worried about you. But Iām glad you had a good time, and that you were safe while you were away. You were, right? Nothing bad happened at all?" She eyed Brie, trying to make sure that she was completely okay. Alli knew she had had some things to deal with before leaving, and she hoped the trip had only made her feel better. Or that she would tell her if that wasnāt the case.
Alli headed into the kitchen to put on the kettle, tea seemed appropriate for the situation... any situation, really. āI went to Pensacola for a blogger event. I ate so much seafood, it was amazing. And I found a pretty nice Irish place, which was the best part of it all, if Iām honest.ā Her face lit up as she talked, it had been wonderful to get away from everything for a few days, especially since the trip was entirely about food. āPretty sure I gained a lot of weight, my clothes are feeling a little bit tight.ā
āTen years is a long time and a trip all the way to Ireland is not nothing.ā he agreed with a soft hum.Ā āI guess I just do not see the harm in it. Look I canāt tell you what to do but just look at it like this, what difference waiting a few months going to make for you. If itās not worth it, donāt do it but otherwise why would you not give it a shot.ā he explained. His own experience on the topic was rather useless but that didnāt mean he could not offer his advice.Ā āBut like I said itās an entire different situation for you so at the end of day itās your call.ā
āYeah but, like... if something goes wrong, itās not like either one of us can just leave. Thatās kind of scary. Usually when Iāve introduced boyfriends to my parents, it hasnāt been for days at a time. Actually thatās very scary." She wrinkled her nose, not too happy about the thought of it all. She decided to focus on her friends instead, since that probably wouldnāt involve her getting freaked out. āSo anyway, are you going to spend the holidays with Camille? Did you talk about that?ā
āHow exhausting must your life be if you have to whine over every single person that dies, do you not have any hobbies?ā a scoff fell from his lips, a clearly unimpressed expression on his face. Ā āHm, I think it might have happened once or twice now you mention it.ā while it was hard to figure out due to his careless tone of voice, it had actually occured before in his life, If not multiple times. He had never really lived in what one would call the good part of the city and in such a crime riddled neighbourhood it was almost inevitable.Ā āMe beingĀ ārespectfulā which honestly just means pretending I actually care does not change a thing. It surely isnāt going to help Louisaās case because you know, sheās dead.ā
Allison rolled her eyes at him, getting more and more annoyed with his attitude to everything. āI know sheās dead, and that sheās not coming back. That doesnāt make it all magically go away, why is that so difficult for you to understand?ā She couldnāt fathom how anyone could be that cynical. Something had to be seriously wrong with him, and she wasnāt sure if she wanted to find out what it was. āI hope youāre just pretending not to care about anything, because otherwise Iām pretty sure youāre just dead inside, and I donāt really want to have to feel sorry for you.ā
Introducing Rollant...
He waved a hand,Ā āYouāre very sweet but I think Iāll survive. I arrived here in one piece so thatās really all I can ask for.ā Rollant, as an older person, struggled with a lot of things. He was very stubborn and stuck in his ways, about more than just learning english. āAh! Yes yes, I think I remember now. It is very close to my apartment back home. Walking distance. I believe Iāve even sketched some restaurant scenes there. Those generally make for nice water colors.ā He nodded,Ā āIt is indeed. So from Ireland, to France, to the US of A. Youāve bounced around quite a bit. Have you moved because of the restaurant? Admittedly this is my first time visiting Florida.ā
āThat is true. But the flight here is bad enough on its own, so long. Itās not made any better by people being difficult to deal with.ā She shrugged, rude people always bothered her, they were such an incovenience. In that way, she felt like even more of a stubborn person than Rollant. āItās my first time here too, but itās a lovely place. I donāt work in restaurants anymore, Iām a writer. I write these kinds of articles about food, I guess. And recipes and stuff.ā Allison tried to avoid the word āblogā at all cost, figuring Rollant wasnāt too familiar with the concept. āIāve been cooking with Camille on a few occasions, itās so nice to have someone around who knows French cuisine the way I do. A lot of places here get it so wrong.ā
drunken sos || rosita & allison
āOh please, you couldnāt afford me,ā Rosita shot back, grinning. It was an offhand comment, the alcohol allowing her to forget how to restrict herself. As quickly as sheād conjured it up it was gone, and somewhere in her mind sober Rosita was begging Allison to not read into it. She grabbed the cookie, biting down instantly. It was only when sheād swallowed that she spoke. āThatās the hassleĀ with moving, right? Like, you have to spot all the weeds again.ā Her eyes were focused on her phone, and with her mind unable to focus on anything but that the words just tumbled out of her mouth. How coherent they were she couldnāt tell.
Rositaās head bobbed in agreement to the girlās words, moving her hand so the phone was held between them.Ā āI think Brie would be sad she missed it,ā she offered, chewing down on the cookie.Ā āIām down for sexting. Oh, should we sext Alistair too? FreakĀ āem out? Wait, thatās weird. I shouldnāt do that with other people.ā Thinking aloud, again. Somehow that damn rockstar had set up camp in her mind, the majority of her memories from the past couple of weeks involving him and her and oh. Not now, though. She was too damn drunk to trust herself.Ā āI have tonsĀ of pictures saved for Hot Adam. And then heĀ can send us a picture. And if heās not that hot we can just slash his tyres and be done with it.ā
āOh Iām sure I couldnāt. Iām not that rich, unfortunately. You seem to have more money than I do, so if anything you should be paying me.ā She chuckled, figuring they were just joking around. She munched on her own cookie while Rosita spoke, nodding in agreement. Even though she mostly liked living in Vero Beach, she had definitely met some people who made her uncomfortable, to say the least. āI know, Iām trying to avoid the creeps, but they have a way of finding you, donāt they? Itās pretty frustrating. At least I have people looking out for me. And Iām looking out for you too, promise.ā
Allison laughed, āBrie isnāt too comfortable with sexting, so donāt worry about it. We can sext anyone you want, Iām totally up for it.ā At the very least she could keep Rosita from embarrassing herself too much, which was probably for the best. Also she was a little bit curious about Hot Adam. āWait, are you going to send him nudes? Iām not sure you should do that right away. He should definitely send us some, though. I wonāt let you slash his tyres, though, thatās not right. You could send him some glitter in the mail though. Thatās a much more classy way to get back at him for not being attractive enough.ā
Introducing Rollant...
The old manās face lit up at the sound of his native language,Ā āAh! Quelle Surprise! Oui, merci- Essayant de communitcate avec l'homme qui m'a conduit ici Ć©tait un cauchemar!Ā Il Ć©tait con comme la lune.ā He shook his head in slight frustration, before nodding, continuing on in french.Ā āYes, thatās exactly who. But where are my manners, it is a pleasure to meet you, mademoiselle, Rollant Le Roux.ā He bowed his head towards her,Ā āYou arenāt from France are you?ā He asked, āYou speak very wellā¦Excuse me, I just canāt help but feel you look very familiarā¦Ā ā
āI know it can be difficult. I hope he didnāt give you too much trouble.ā Allison smiled brightly at the man, happy that she was able to make him feel a little more comfortable. She knew well enough that a lot of older French people struggled with English, and she always appreciated a chance to talk to a native speaker. āNo, Iām Irish. Allison OāLemon, pleasure to meet you too,ā she gave him a nod in return, figuring that was the best way to go. āWell, I know Camille from a restaurant I used to work at, so perhaps thatās it? I think you look a little familiar too, so that would make sense. Such a small world, isnāt it?ā
āI donāt think Batman as ever been evil. Unless you are talking Flashpoint, in which Barry Allen runs so fast that he goes back in time to saves his mother from being kill, to which changes everything so Bruce Wayne ends up dying, and is mum becomes the Joker, while his father becomes Batman and kills people. Yes and yes. How are you not understanding this?ā
ā... What? Whatās a Flashpoint?ā Allison barely understood what Amelia was on about, and she wondered if she was just making stuff up to confuse her. This must be how Mico felt when people talked about computers. āWhoās Barry Allen? Was he one of the suicide people?ā
āāNo, think about it. If you killed your grandpa, heād never meet your grandma, meaning youād never be born. And if you were never born, no one could go back in time to kill said grandpa. Itās paradoxical, and therefore illogical.ā
āWell, that clearly all depends on when Iād choose to kill him, like how far Iād go back, dāyou know? I could easily just go back to a point where heād had kids already. Or I could even choose a point after I was born.ā
āThatās the only reason it matters right? Because she was your friend.ā he scoffed.Ā āLoads of people die every day and the world still keeps on turning just fine so letās not make it into a bigger deal than it should be. Everyone cared for a little while but soon enough that became boring and now no one bats an eye about it anymore, thatās life get used to it.ā
āNo itās not just because she was my friend,ā Allison stared at him in disbelief. She couldnāt believe this guy, how insensitive he was about everything. āYes, people die all the time, and I donāt know where you come from, but Iām not used to my neighbours being murdered. Just because people die doesnāt mean you canāt be a little respectful about it.ā
āItās not selfish, donāt say that. You have not seen your family in such a long time of course you want some time to catch up with them without being interrupted. Family time is important for you thatās okay.ā he tried to reassure her, he was totally clueless as to what to do to calm the girl down.Ā āWell ehm-ā his voice trailed off, what was he supposed to tell her? Definately not the truth.Ā āI think you canāt really compare the two. Your situation is a lot more diificult and complicated than mine. But short answer, yes I would.ā
Allison nodded slowly, grateful that he didnāt think she was being too selfish. āYeah, itās been a while... and I havenāt introduced my family to a boyfriend for like, 10 years. So it would be such a big deal.ā She sighed, turning her attention to Sam when she noticed the change in his demeanour, āReally? So soon? I mean... I guess it sort of makes sense in a way, like you wouldnāt have to bring him to another country... but still.ā
ā
What is your go to excuse for being late?
Irish time. And French time. In both places, being at least 15 minutes late is pretty much the norm, so you donāt need to make up an excuse. Please bear with me, itās really hard to adapt to a place where people actually expect you to arrive on time.
ā, ā¢, ā¼ / ā
If you got kicked out of a country, what would it be for?
Um, thatās actually a good question. I guess the most likely scenario would be me messing up some of the paperwork that comes with moving abroad, itās always so difficult to keep track of everything, stuff can easily go wrong.
What would you think is your defining quality to others?
That Iām pretty much always in a good mood. Iāve been told that I smile too much, but I donāt think thereās anything wrong with spreading positivity.
Do you prefer sunbathing or bundling up for winter?
Well, I moved from France to Florida... what do you think? Although I do love winter. I just prefer to be inside when thereās snow.
ā
If you could live forever, what would you ideally do?
Travel. Travel travel travel. All over the place, all the time. Iād be able to see every single place in the world, and Iād be able to see all my favourite cities change over time. I think that would be amazing.
ā , ā , $
What are you deathly afraid of?
Mostly Iām really scared that somethingās going to happen to my family or my friends back home, especially now when Iām so far away. If something did happen to anyone, I wouldnāt be able to get there immediately to help out, and thatās a very scary thought.
Did you ever leave someone a drunken voicemail?
So. Many.
Especially to my exes. I think most of them were just me telling one of them in particular that he was a prick.
Have you ever spent too much money on something stupid?
No, I wouldnāt say so. I guess Iām boring like that. I try to be careful with my money, and Iām pretty good at saving up because thatās the only way Iām able to travel so much.
āI understand that it must be a big step.ā except that he didnāt, he had no one to introduce his boyfriend to.Ā āLook really, donāt stress yourself out Iām sorry for bringing it up.ā he had never wanted to distress Allison about the topic.Ā āLike you said itās all very still very new between the two of you, there will be plenty of other occassions for you to introduce him.ā he tried to reassure her.Ā āJust talk to him about it when the time is ready so youāre sure youāre on the same line when it comes to this.ā
Alli nodded and sighed quietly, trying not to seem to affected by the whole thing. Not that she did a good job at that. āI just want to see my family without the entire time being about Mico being there... thatās kind of selfish, but yāknow.ā She shrugged and ran her fingers through her long hair. āI mean, would you bring Camille to meet your family so soon?ā
āThe Landlord is an exception to that rule but fine if it makes you feel better, I wonāt wish murder upon him either. Iāll do it myself when it ever comes to that.ā he rolled his eyes at her comment.Ā āWe can go ahead and cry in a corner over every little bad thing that happens in the world but thatās really fucking pointless because it does not actually change shit.ā
Allison groaned and rolled her eyes back at him, āWhat the fuck is wrong with you? Itās not some ālittle bad thingā, one of my friends was murdered, and probably by someone in the building we live in. It wouldnāt kill you to show a little bit of respect for that situation, would it?ā
