analysis of some jjk 0 scenes (spoilers!!! and also making everything about stsg again)
the scene where gojo and geto have flashbacks to the kfc breakup and looking out the sunset, i’d like to think that they can feel each other and they’re looking at each other because that’s how familiar they are with each other, they just get a feeling when one of them looks at the other
in the flashback, you can’t see gojo’s eyes, even though when it actually happened gojo’s eyes were very visible
i would like to assume the flashback shows both gojo and getos pov
from getos pov, he can’t see gojos eyes and hence gojo seems less emotional, less movement, showing that geto thought that gojo had let go of him too
also peoples faces are all blurred out and look the same, showing how geto sees them as only monkeys and unimportant compared to him and gojo, who are jujutsu sorcerers
but also showing that at point in time, from gojos pov, only geto mattered to him, because he was literally about to lose his one and only
and when they cut back to the present, the sun sets below the horizon showing how the “sun set” on their relationship. however, night does not fall fully and there is still some lingering light from the sun. showing how they still care about each other and neither had fully let go of the other
also shoko walking out when yaga said “we will exorcise the curse that is geto” because geto was her friend too
also gojo was most definitely crying under the bandages watching geto leave after seeing him for the first time in 11 years because it reminded him of what he lost and what could’ve been, he could’ve grown up into an adult with geto, but he never got to, and now geto is leaving him again
at getos death, gojos eyes look really sad, especially seeing his best friend, his one and only injured and knowing what he will have to do, especially since it’s his responsibility as the strongest (I HAVE NEVER SEEN GOJOS EYES THAT SAD BEFORE), also it seems like it’s full of resignation and sad acceptance that this is what geto has become and gojos going to have to kill him
THE LAST SHOT THEY DON’T SHOW HIS EYES AFTER GETO SAYS “at least curse me a little before my end” BECAUSE HE WAS DEFINITELY ON THE VERGE OF CRYING, also “love is the most twisted curse of all”, so in a way he did curse geto in the end
gojo also didn’t mask his feelings with a smile when he killed geto, not because he couldn’t mask it, but because geto was the one person whom he could share his feelings with
also i feel like they drew gojo different right after geto died, like the eyes are different somehow THEY MADE HIS EYES LESS SHINY COS THE LIGHT IN HIS EYES IS GONE
“i rejected to accept rikas death, it’s all my fault” is the same as gojo refusing to let go of geto and accept him as a bad person, he can definitely relate to feeling like it’s all his fault, especially since he’s the strongest and has so much responsibility on his shoulders
when rika was like “thank you for giving me more time and lettting me stay by your side”, i bet gojo was smiling wistfully wishing that he could’ve had more time with geto and stayed by his side
I BET HE WISHED THAT GETO WOULD LET HIM STAY BY HIS SIDE OR AT LEAST LET HIM HELP
and at the scene where rika dissolves and it’s all pretty and shit, i bet gojo was thinking “if only suguru could see this”

“even if this love is like a curse” because love is the most twisted curse of all
“back to the time when i thought spring would come as it always does” -> spring -> blue spring, metaphor of youth -> after hidden inventory gojo and getos blue spring never came again because their youth was taken away from them
“back to the time when i believe everything you dream will become true” shows how idealistic and hopeful gojo and geto were for the future, especially since they thought they’d have all the time in the world with each other
“back to the time when i thought you will always be next to me as you always do” gojo thought geto would be by his side forever because they were each others one and only, BUT WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED
“even the rain of unerasable memories continues to seep into old wounds” because no matter how long it’s been, gojo can never forget getos face as seen in the flashback hidden inventory ramen scene where although riko’s face can’t be seen because gojo has already forgotten it, geto’s face is clear, showing how gojo still remembers geto after so long
and gojo can’t forget the kfc breakup and that even as the strongest, he couldn’t save the one he loved the most, because he can only save those that want to be saved
he can’t forget that him and his best friend had their youth taken away, and that’s why he wants to prevent that from happening to the next generation so bad
“tears without reasons buries the overflowing night and turn into a shining dream”is possibly a reference to how much gojo is crying internally but he can’t show it because he’s the strongest, because in hidden inventory intro, gojo’s hand + galaxy shots might be showing his inner world
overflowing night usually has the image of a galaxy, so it could be showing how much gojo is internally crying
and turn into a shining dream of what could’ve been, because flashback scenes have more shine to them than normal scenes as well
“doesn’t matter if this is a dream that will become real or if it would contradict reality” because gojos infinity basically contradicts reality, he is proof that it can still exist even if it does, so it doesn’t matter if this dream can become real or contradicts reality, because it can still exist in his mind
“if you wish pierce through my heart” this shows a willingness to let oneself be hurt for the sake of someone else’s happiness. Geto was depressed, but he hid it for the sake of not worrying Gojo, so he was letting himself be hurt/be in pain for the sake of Gojo. Pierce through my heart may also be a symbol for love, WHICH IS THE MOST TWISTED CURSE OF ALL
“the white breaths remain helpless melted and disappeared into the freezing winter” shows that even the warmth of body heat, (or warmth from another perhaps) is not enough to fill in the gap left by gojo and getos one and only
“the warmth left from the day where we overlap our hands is not enough” GOJO AND GETO HOLDING HANDS PERCHANCE??? even though they did they still never confessed, that gap between them is now like a freezing winter, and that tiny bit of affection isn’t enough to make up for what could’ve been
“if you wish i can fly to you no matter where you are” because gojo can fly :D
“love and hate tightly linked together” because gojo and geto are supposed to hate each other when in reality they love each other even though they are enemies
“vowed to escape together this cold and biting night sky” perhaps reference to how they both escaped the cruelty of the JJK world by dying on the same day 1 year apart?
“dive in the sea of memories and pick up the pieces of love” because riko’s inner world was shown to be a sea/ocean, with her trauma (parents dying in a car crash) but also the blessings in her life (kuroi, her friends) being represented as items inside the sea, it’s only natural that pieces of love would be there too
This may show how gojo and geto were also an important part of riko’s life even though she only knew them for a few days before she died? but it also might show how much of an impact riko made on them in just a few days
“I will always be in your heart so i will quietly leave this dazzling world” because geto died after his last soft moment with gojo (obviously he will always be in gojos heart) and no one knew at the time besides gojo, and a few minutes later rika dissolves into dazzling bubbles
“Even if this love is like a curse gradually slowly gnaws at my body” because gojos love for geto causes him a bunch of emotional pain which might take a toll of his physical body??
“two people asking for each other their figures overlapping” because gojo and geto are still longing for each other or what could have been despite kfc breakup
Their figures overlap because they were both the strongest at one point and they shared that role together, hence overlapping
“Let’s turn that into a dream in front of us” sharing the burden of being the strongest again, having someone that truly understands him is probably what gojo wishes he had again, he’s probably willing to dream of that
Two years ago today the last ever Bad Batch episode aired. I can not believe it’s been that long. Man how fast time flies.
Feels like just yesterday I was sitting at my desk watching the first ever episode of this show and falling even more in love with these characters. This show means so much to me and I will forever grateful that we got a season seven of clone wars so we could be introduced to this awesome batch of clones.
To celebrate, I thought I’d do a little screenshot redraw of the leader of the batch, Hunter.
This show is my favorite Star Wars show, for a multitude of reasons, and it will always hold a special place in my heart.
