"D e a t h." He said, folding his arms across his chest. "Favorite? Wow, I really made it up the list." Frank sounds sarcastic. "I didn't know DEATH dealt with rumors, the fact that you're here, they must be somethin'."

Her head turns to the body laying on the ground. "I'm never too far. Not from you. Everyone has their demons." A hand reaches out to his shoulder but stops just short of his shoulder. Her fingers twitch before dropping it back down towards her waist side.

"I thought I had almost lost you. I had a few strings pulled. I would never disturb those graves but.. You needed your little girl." She turns back to him holding out a small bracelet. "She asked for me to deliver this to you personally."

I’m genuinely convinced you could write about something completely ordinary...like buying toothpaste or waiting in line at a grocery store, and somehow make it emotionally devastating in the best way.

Your writing has this really rare quality where it feels effortless, but you can tell there’s so much thought and honesty underneath it. Nothing feels fake or overdone. It just sounds true. And that’s probably why it sticks with me so much afterward.

Death hugs a folder tightly under her arm. Another soul. Another day. Dennis Borne. Forty-eight years old. Just found out his wife was cheating on him and is showing his proof of love by jumping off a roof. Divine intervention of the foolish only leads to her.

With a raise of her wrist, her eyes goes to her watch. The time ticking down. The crowd starts to gather around. Their hands covering their mouths in shock. "Oh no. He is going to jump." She mimics a bit of shock to blend in. It was a little monotone. But something that would pass for 'human like' compassion.

And off he went. The crowd screams, some cover their eyes when his body hit a car with a loud thud. Death steps forward to take a better look at the body then back down to her file in hand. "That poor person that has to deal with their insurance." She shakes her head.
